The cockroach in my room

Overall this stay was a fantastic value. The staff were really kind and helpful, especially the person who helped me forward my luggage from the front desk. The location is indeed very central (and so busy/noisy depending on which way your room faces). My room was a good size and the bed & pillow were very comfy. It was a bit hard to find because the sign outside the door says "plus" on it, which was not indicated anywhere online. My room did have a bit of an odor (kind of a smoked fish smell) but not terrible.

Great location. Staff were friendly and rooms seemed to be a decent size. The room had a funky damp smell, and the fridge didn’t work. Staff eventually fixed it, but not until right before the end of our stay.

Location and staff were great! Bathroom was on the smaller size. Tall

Great location, room is very tight, hardly move around but it's clean. Very tight room.

I liked the location - close to transportation and food. The room was spacious for one person, but would be tight for 2. It was also very clean, and the hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. Had some good restaurant recommendations, and tried to help me get a cab on a rainy day. The hotel also had a coin laundry and dryer, with a microwave and toaster. There was an odor in the shower, which i couldn't identify.

Location was excellent. Close to Gion, temples, shrines. Within walking distance. Beds were comfy. Our original room was 1 bed. The 2 of us could NOT stand up at the same time. The room was literally only 12 inches bigger than the bed. There was no space for 2 people. We asked if there was a room that was bigger and they were able to help us. Five nights was impossible. We couldn't even move around and of course no luggage. So my advice to you: 2 adults, book the room with 2 beds. Then you'll have space to move around and open your luggage. Kettle, cups, coffee, tea, toothbrush were available. Been in Japan 1 month already and have stayed in 5 or 6 places. I wish they would make use of the wall space with hooks and shelves. This hotel had hooks, thank goodness but I wish there were more shelves. We're living out of the suitcases laying on the floor.

The location is excellent, right in the Gion area. It was very convenient to walk around anytime, and the overall experience was wonderful. The surroundings are beautiful and lively. The only downside was the kitchen setup. There was only an oven, but no basic utensils like plates, spoons, or bowls. Because of this, we were not able to use ready-to-eat food.

Excellent location massage service and laundry services

Very clean. Appreciate the microwave and coin op laundry. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Beds were very comfortable. Room size was decent. The location was excellent. Right in middle of it all with easy access to bus and train stations The shower was so very small even for Japanese standards. This was our 3rd hotel in a four hotel stay and it was the most uncomfortable to shower in. Standing to shower with a wet curtain hanging on you is ick. I understand the size constraints. Other than this, our stay here was lovely

Good location Bad cleanliness, and you had to ask for them to clean your room. No ventilation either.

Room was small but is standard for basic hotel rooms.

I was nervous due to reviews that said there was a funny smell or the room was very damp, but that wasn't the case for us at all. It was a fantastic room actually. Everything you could need, and staff were incredibly helpful to us on multiple occasions, lending us hangers for our laundry, booking us cabs, helping us make restaurant reservations, etc. Also had a great massage at the in-house spa which helped me keep walking around Japan for another week. The street noise could be a bit loud on Friday/Saturday nights due to the proximity to very lively areas (which is really a compliment!)

The room walls and bathroom sink could be cleaner
