M’s Hotel Gojo Odawara

Perfect location on walking distances from all the main spots in Kyoto. Very clean and organized, hotel stuff very polite and helpful. We liked everything

The location is great and the apartment has everything you need (except a dryer). There is only 1 elevator for an entire building with 10+ floors. You may need to wait a while to actually get your turn

Staff are not always available and there are only two small laundry machines for the whole hotel.

The hotel was small but convenient for a short stay, with useful amenities like a washer and dryer. The staff was friendly and accommodating, allowing luggage storage before check-in and after check-out, which made it easy to explore. However, the main downside was that the property looked quite different from the photos online, so more research beforehand would have helped.

A small yet highly convenient hotel, ideal for budget travelers. A convenience store is located nearby, and the area is peaceful and quiet.

The location was good and the room was clean and tidy The smoking room--the cigarette smoke was sucked up into the vents and the entire lobby and our room smelled like smoke every time someone used the smoking room. The room was also EXTREMELY tiny, but that's what this price point gets you at that location.

Near to metro, perfect location. 5 min away from family mark, which is pretty convenient.

A bit noisy if someone is speaking loud in the room nearby you could hear it, but only during day, in the night it was super quiet

Location was great. The don’t clean the rooms everyday. There was no information prior to the booking warning beforehand that cleaning would not be made everyday, when I book a hotel I’m expecting that.

The place was clean. I liked that it had 3 separate beds for the 3 of us. Most of the other hotels we stayed in only had 2 beds and they were full size so 2 had to share a tiny space and 1 got a whole bed. When we checked in they charged a fee that we had to pay to check in, even though I had already paid on line. That was a bit annoying. They had a mini fridge but it didn't have a freezer in it. So my ice packs that I brought to transport the insulin we had to bring couldn't freeze. I had to buy bags of ice. cause all the hotels freezers in their mini fridges didn't work. But at least the fridge worked. It is a long walk from the train station to get there about a mile or more

They clean the room once, not every day when we stay for 4 nights.

digital lock mechanism was great, no more lost keys or cards. hotel common area was clean. location was not close enough to convenience stores and train stations. WIFI doesn't allow us to connect to the internet. I was using my data all throughout our stay in the hotel. there was only 1 microwave and 2 washer/dryer for the whole hotel to share.

Even if there has air conditioner, it feels like suffocating

There's not much to say, it's a normal Japanese budget hotel. A clean and fairly large room, tiny bathroom, comfortable bed and everything just works. The price per night was what I would expect from a budget hotel in Japan. The location is quite good, Gojō Station is only a five minute walk away. Kyoto Station is a 20 minute walk away. I like to walk so I usually walked to Kyoto Station in the morning. There is a decent selection of restaurants within a 10 minute walk from the hotel. The southern end of Teramachi street with lots of shopping is only a 15-20 minute walk away. Just some tiny things that could be improved. The keypad to get into the hotel at night is a "high security" one which randomizes the numbers on the buttons. This feels like overkill, it's the entrance to a hotel, not Fort Knox. Having to figure out which button is which when tired is just a bit bothersome. I wish the table in the room had been square instead of round and also slightly larger. That would have made it more convenient when I had to sit and work at with laptop in the evenings.
