Our stay here was phenomenal. The breakfast was delicious and very filling, made for a great start to the day. Staff was so incredibly kind and helpful, they helped us ship our bags to our next hotel with no problems. The room was very nice, the bed was very comfortable. Overall we had a wonderful time staying here.

The Kaiseki dinner and traditional Japanese breakfast were the biggest highlight. Staff were super-attentive and prior to arriving, they made sure to check for our dietary restrictions/allergies. Room is very spacious. The whole ryokan has only 7 rooms which made it feel extraordinary exclusive and cosy. Price/night is considered pricey but well worth it for the experience and meals, even the mini bar drinks are included. No onsen within ryokan compound, but there is a deep wooden bathtub in room that works too. Nearest subway requires a 10min walk. So for to & fro Kyoto station with luggages, we took a cab instead.

The hospitality, facilities, and the room were great. Low ceiling, be careful with your head.

Great for both Curfew at midnight but the good part was the quiet

Breakfast and dinner were fabulous. Rooms small but comfy. Cedar tub was a huge treat. Too much clutter inthe room - papers we never read in tiny writing. The many toiletries were superfuous, especially in tiny hard to open packets.

We were told that staying in a Ryokan is a must-do experience while in Japan (if you can afford it!). I'm glad we did. This Ryokan was highly rated and it lived up to the ratings. it was a serene and relaxing experience. Our room was very lovely and overlooked the small courtyard garden. The entire Ryokan was small, but very well-appointed and thoughtful. The staff was lovely. The food good. The room had so many nice amenities. But my favorite thing was the yukata (or in-home kimono). The Ryokan encouraged you to wear it to dinner (small, shared dining room) and breakfast. It was very comfortable and relaxing! The location was good. Easy to walk around or if you are more adventurous, rent a bike at the nearby shop and you can go further. Low ceilings in our room that my 6' husband had to be careful. We had ants in our bathroom, but they left after we showered and didn't come back.

Really comfortable, quaint and well staffed I’ve read some negative comments about mealtime rushing the courses however I did not find that to be case at all. The times/ rules are fairly strict however I found that to be the case in most restaurants across Japan. Just respect the customs and rules in another country.

Bed was a little hard (but sheets were super soft)

Our stay was amazing! With helpful and kind staff, clean and comfortable room, and delicious japanese style breakfast. Especially loved the calm common areas surrounding the zen garden. Thank you for such a spectacular stay!

I very HIGHLY recommend staying here; I am a consultant who has stayed at various hotels across the world, and this has to be the best stay that I have ever had. The dinner and breakfast are one of the best meals that I have had, compliments to the chef, and the waitress was so attentive and considerate. My room was beautifully decorated and with a great view of the garden, and the private onsen is a dream. The additional amenities and products are top brands, such as the ReFa hair curler, the Pearl Elegance shampoo and conditioner, and so on. I loved my stay here and every single piece was carefully curated with great care and consideration for the ryokan customer. No notes. Everything was perfect and if there was an issue, I am sure that the ryokan staff would have helped me resolve any annoyance. I fully recommend a stay here.

Beautiful property that was a sanctuary away from the busy atmosphere of Kyoto. The room was spacious, the staff friendly and helpful, the food exquisite and creative. I particularly appreciated the quiet lounge overlooking the peaceful inner garden.

Beyond fantastic, had a traditional dinner and breakfast, which made it extra special! We would love to comeback again ??

Breakfast was AMAZING!! The location was excellent, staff was the sweetest and very helpful. We stayed 3 nights but I wish I would have stayed longer and used this as a base instead of moving locations to the very busy Osaka. I don't think I have any complaints. everything was that wonderful.

Wonderful place to stay! Staff extremely friendly, facilities charming, quiet location off the beaten path but easy enough to get to, and there are lots of food options nearby. The facilities really are top notch; the reading/snack room is a huge bonus, especially if you just need to chill out for a bit before coming or going. Unless you have plans to be out early each morning, do the breakfast option. All is all, we couldn't been happier. This is just us, but we would've loved if our room didn't have a TV. I understand that most travelers want one, and it's a flat screen and takes up zero room, so this is basically a moot point--especially since every place you stay anywhere is going to have one. Do not let this influence you decision to stay here!

This place is great, amazing rooms, garden and lounge. Staff is very nice and helpful. Breakfast is delicious.

It felt cozy and intimate It didn’t have the tatami flooring. Didn’t have an osen

While we had a great time and were happy with all hotels throughout our travels in Japan, this place stands out from the rest. Extremely clean, beautiful space, lovely staff, comfortable beds and amenities and exquisite food was provided (breakfast + dinner). Special thanks for the water, apple juice and beer in the mini fridge upon our arrival as well as the variety of teas and treats. It was so thoughtful. We couldn’t believe that staff was walking in and around the kitchen in socks, it was immaculate, we haven’t seen this level of perfection anywhere else. The ryokan is tucked away from the busy streets, which we preferred, yet, it was very close to transportation hubs and sightseeing interest. I’d love to come back here again and highly recommend it. Everything was perfect!
