Staff was friendly and extremely helpful going above and beyond. The property is small with just 10 rooms. We booked 2 rooms to accommodate our family of 5. They accommodated our request to give us rooms next door to each other. The location is excellent just a block from the traditional Gion street where we were able to see 2 Geishas going to work. Many restaurants within walking distance including several Michelin rated. Highly recommend this Rinn Gion for anyone visiting Kyoto. nothing

Location was perfectly situated for all the things we wanted to do and experience our first trip to Kyoto.

Excellent location! Wonderful and accommodating staff! Good advice for attractions. Great amenities. Lots of stores and variety of foods within a 5-10 minute walk.
-
generous space, quality of buildout, helpful staff 24 hour desk person in room bottled water would be nice but I understand

The location is amazing! You are really in the heart of Kyoto here. We were fortunate also, as our fourth floor room overlooked a beautiful shrine across the street, which gave the whole experience a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of Kyoto. Our room also had a balcony which was perfect for enjoying a few family drinks before heading out to dinner each night. Honestly, nothing. The staff are charming here, and the room was lovely and comfortable.

The location is perfectly positioned in the middle of Gion, easy walks to multiple temples and the entire Gion district, as well as Nishiki market. The room is a mixture of modern and traditional. The balcony was a great additional feature. Great experience overall with the staff, who went out of their way to help us have a great stay in Kyoto. Nothing. I liked everything

Location was amazing and the staff was fantastic and gave great recommendations.

The property is very clean, and it provides best selection of amenities. Wish it has parking available, also I wish their room could be bigger for a family of 4.

After spending months carefully building our Japan itinerary, I realized I had not budgeted enough time in Kyoto, especially around the karyūkai that I admire so deeply. So I cut one night from Osaka and added one to Kyoto, wanting to stay inside Gion. That is how I found Rinn Gion Hanatouro. The hotel itself was wonderful, especially the traditional Japanese room. My daughter stayed in that room, and I admit I was jealous. It was beautiful, atmospheric, and exactly the kind of room I had dreamed of finding in Kyoto. What truly made this hotel stand out, though, was the service—especially Namiko-san. During our first stay in Kyoto, we stopped by to ask if we could leave our luggage there while we traveled overnight to Hiroshima and Miyajima. Her English was limited, and it took some effort for us to explain what we needed, but I could sense that, for her, failure was not an option. She was patient, thoughtful, and determined to help us, and eventually everything was understood and arranged. When we returned to Kyoto, we dropped off more luggage and then went to an incredible lunch at Usagi no Ippo. Later, when we finally checked in, Namiko-san was still there, and she assisted us carefully and thoroughly with checkin. She also offered to take our picture in front of the temple next door when we came back dressed in kimono, which was such a kind and memorable gesture. Later that night, she even recognized my Dassai 23 just from the labeling on the box—a woman of impeccable taste. Service in Japan is already exceptional, but Namiko-san still stood out. She brought a warmth, patience, and professionalism that made our stay feel personal and special. I was genuinely sad that we were not able to say goodbye to her when we left the next morning. After an ozashiki with a geiko and maiko, a tea ceremony with a maiko, and the kindness and help of Namiko-san, I left Kyoto with my heart and soul both full. I truly hope to return to Kyoto and Rinn Gion Hanatouro one day! The only thing we did not like was that we had to leave so soon. We would have loved more time to enjoy the beautiful room, the atmosphere of Gion, and the wonderful kindness of the staff. Sayonara, Namiko-san, and arigatō gozaimashita to everyone at Rinn Gion Hanatouro.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Extremely clean premises. Location was close to all shops and restaurants; right in the heart of Gion. Construction workers on the street every night at 9:30pm through the next morning. Woken up to noise throughout the night. Our room was facing the street.
-
Excellent staff. Very comfortable rooms that were clean daily. Nice and quiet and close to a lot of action. There was nothing that we didn’t like about the property

Everything was great, this is one of the best locations in Kyoto. My fault, I should have booked the comfort room, The view is one of my top priorities, it was good, but could have been better.
-
Spacious room, excellent location in Gion, close to many remarkable places and street, and quiet at the same time. Friendly and professional staff. Particular thanks to Soda at the front desk, who went above and beyond to make my birthday day even more special. She was so genuinely kind.

The location was perfect...right in the heart of the Gion district close to many restaurants and things to see and do. The staff was so helpful and friendly- they went out of their way to make our stay perfect.
-
I was a very traditional hotel in terms of the size of the room and amenities. The staff was very friendly and the location was perfect! The room was small for 3 adults, but that is not abnormal for Kyoto.
-
Room is a bit small, but has an excellent location!
-
Incredible location, comfortable facilities, helpful and friendly staff. Great value!

Nothing. Everything was perfect.

Quiet location but near the sights of Kyoto. Very helpful staff. I had forgotten breakfast was not offered and wished we didn’t have to go find it everyday.
