Loved the traditional breakfast! Loved traditional rooms! Bathroom was a little smelly. Futons not super comfortable!

Everything was great! The coin operated washer/dryer was very helpful. The breakfast is a great experience. Definitely recommend adding it to your reservation. None.

Excellent and authentic beautiflly prepared and served

Quiet neighborhood, but easy access to all central and historical location. Authentic interior, but renovated rooms, absolutely new and clean. Comfortable futon and pillow, spacious room, delicious breakfast. I personally liked small but relaxing public bath. I would prefer cleaning everyday and have a new bottle of water everyday.

The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff was exceptionally friendly and kind. The breakfast was a great experience. The location was in a slightly quieter area but wasn’t too far to walk where we wanted to go. Loved our stay.

Just going to start by stating that the customer service is excellent. I messed up and managed to leave behind an item in the room and they arranged to have it shipped to my next hotel. The hotel itself is amazing; Quiet and adorable. The room was spacious and well equipped. The beds, the pads on the floor, were waaaaay more comfortable than I was expecting. I sincerely had the best night's sleep of my entire Japan trip. The bath was nice and relaxing. We were able to sit and watch the koi in the water feature. it's far enough from the loud areas that you don't have to deal with the noise, but close enough that the bus to the popular areas is only 5-10 minutes away, max. I wish we'd had more time here.

Ryokan had an onsen. They rummaged my room and opened my sealed bags to steal things. If it wasn't them that did this, then their lack of urgency (not to mention other suspicious behavior) after I told them my room was broken into warrants 1 star. After my stay, I saw another reviewer who said his wife's wedding ring mysteriously disappeared during their stay. I wish I read this before booking.

Location was great. The open air bath was great. Had a little trouble with temperature of the room.

This was one of our favourite stays on our trip! The room was really nice and bigger than we expected. The onsen downstairs was great and really relaxing. One evening I had it all to myself (women's onsen) and the other evening there were only two other women using it, so it wasn't too busy. The staff were helpful and friendly. We were only here for 3 nights but would've loved to stay here longer.

Wet authentic, clean and super helpful and friendly staff.

Gave us a very japanese culture experience

All was great. We did not select the breakfast. Dryer took longer than expected to fully dry.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Large comfortable rooms. Clean onsen. Small onsen, but really no people in it to speak of when we were there. I’m not sure how the bathroom compares to other ryokans, but it was somewhat inconvenient as part of the entryway to the room.

For a traditional ryokan experience at a reasonable price and good location, this is the place. Our room was spacious, clean and quiet, yet with all the modern conveniences including a bathroom and air conditioning and a safe. Sleeping on the floor with the futon and tatami mats was an amazing experience. We didn't try the breakfast and they offer no other meals. The ryokan is located a little outside the main tourist area, but still within a 10-15 minute walk to the main area. As well, there are buses within 100 feet and there are lots of convenience stores and restaurants nearby. They also offer mens and womens onsen. Overall, a great experience. Nothing.

The room was clean and spacious. I love the public bath and was fortunate that it was not too busy when I used it Didn’t know beforehand that the room cleaning was every 3days, and thus there was no new bottle water/towel change unless you request it at the front desk (Which is ok, since it’s better for the environment :)

The staff was super helpful and friendly. The room was great with lots of space and amenities and I really enjoyed the public baths which were especially great at easing away any tiredness from exploring the sights in Kyoto. Nothing

Traditional Japanese hotel with futons for sleeping and on site modem

Didn't have any breakfast at all, though I'm almost certain that was among the booking.com requirements I looked for before reserving. That was disappointing. Some of the bedding feels very used and in need of renovation.
