There is a sento inside the hotel, which is great. The rooms are Japanese style with futons and it is a very Japanese sleeping experience. While the hotel is a little bit away from downtown Kyoto, it is close to a train stop and easy to get to from Kyoto station. The hotel was a 15-20 minute train ride north from Kyoto station.

Lovely traditional hotel with tatami mats, futons and its own bathhouse. Extremely peaceful and comfortable. The staff were amazing and the bath house was really great - they even provide fresh dressing gowns every day. It was a bit tired in places but it gave it quite a vintage authentic feel, and it was extremely clean. In a great suburb of Kyoto, right across the river from the botanical gardens with plenty of local restaurants and cafes, and 20 mins on the subway from the very busy centre. Would absolutely stay there again. A hidden gem! Nothing. Even the futons and traditional pillows were incredible!

Handy for the metro although a stop slightly out from the central area. A bit corporate compared to some of the other places we stayed.

It is a very quiet, very well presented Ryokan. I enjoyed using the bathroom with onsen. It is very close is Kamogawa, river, and Subway station.
