Good location close to station, host is nice, home had lots of amenities. Had a quiet comfortable stay.

Overall it was good, good value for money. The room is spacious and clean. We liked the location away from the crowd. The kitchen is small and a little cramped. The outdoor space and living room space is not accessible. The very steep stairs for our 3 year old daughter weren't suitable.

It was nice and comfortable.

Far from subway station

I like staying in the house, traditional style Location is a little removed from the major kyoto areas, but still convenient via train. Best to stick with the subway, the train station is about a 20 min walk. Overall, very satisfied. I liked all

Was an amazing stay. Lovely host, very welcoming, warm, good location, lots of amenities to use and yummy snacks were provided! Also, we were travelling with a baby and we were given nappies, wipes and bags! Highly recommend, was pleasantly surprised and happy!!

The room was cute and comfortable and it’s at a Japanese house so it’s very authentic and original. There is a kitchen that you can use to make your breakfast. The owner is lovely and he helped me with a luggage issue had. The location is not in the center but at a neighborhood of Kyoto connected to busses and the train which was fine by us. It’s always nice to stay where the locals stay and at a proper neighborhood rather than a touristic hotspot.

This is a lovely place, very homey and welcoming. The staff are lovely and helpful. The location is great, it is clean and the staff are very helpful.

Steep staircase which is fine if you are young, and the location for sightseeing requires a decent amount of bus transit.

Very nice accomodation, we stayed in a big bedroom with space for 3 futons. the futons are comfy, and the bedsheets in the wintertime are like fluffy blankets (not normal cotton bedsheets). we stayed in the coldest days of the year and experienced Kyoto with snow! the room has inverter climatization, so hot air from the a/c was used to warm us up. the bathroom, the toilet and the kitchen are all downstairs. this is a traditional japanese house with a steep staircase, very charming, very steep! Yusuke-san is a good host, and we enjoyed our stay at his place. Wifi, tea, coffee and matcha, all perfect. washing machine is 200 yen (500 with dryer). this house is out of city center, but Saiin metro is close, and direct bus connections to Kikanju and bamboo forest are close too. there is a nice one-wagon tram line going to the bamboo forest too, about 30 mins. from Sai.

The homie feel and the wide range of goods that were available for use. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom is clean.

The bedding was amazing, the location was great, and it was wonderful to stay in a house with so much history to tell. Really enjoyed reading about all the little things like the stairs!! Washing machines were easy to use and very useful.

Comfortable, warm, cozy, easy access to underground and bus stops. Chance of staying in a residential area in a very quiet neighborhood away from the fuss from the central touristy area. The house also features pieces of its original architecture.
