There where middle school kids that stay there most nights and are very distributive to the peaceful environment that was otherwise present.
-
the shared bath get a bit dirty sometimes and there is only 2 shower stalls for women that we know of, so sometimes it is a bit difficult. the location is also quite far so it would better suit people with private vehicles
-
Our room was comfy and spatious. Breakfast was real good too. Would absolutely come back if I have the chance.
-
The hostel is offers a a traditional Japanese experience. It's far from downtown.
-
Location wasn't in the centre of kyoto but was only a bus away

I stayed in many hostels when I used to backpack (I'm 41 now), and this is easily one of the nicest. The beds were comfortable (my wife and I stayed in a family room, not a dorm), the dinner was delicious, healthy, and well presented. The bathrooms were spotless, and the grounds were very nice. There are only a few showers, and there are set times to use them (6am to 9:45am, 3pm to 10pm), so that is inconvenient for people like us who are up at 5am and out the door well before 6am. Other than that, the location is far from ideal, but we have a car (we live in Tokyo), so that wasn't an issue for us.

No Nothing
-
You need to put the bed sheets yourself on the bed though. Location is pretty inconvenient to be honest, far from most interesting things in the east of Kyoto, but you'll be near the bamboo forest.

The Hostel is very beautiful and very clean, the breakfast was very good and local. I enjoyed everything. The hot bath in the structure was small but enough for relax and the common area was very fancy
-
The pantry/kitchen was open 24 hrs which was very convenient. We would arrive late in the hostel, freshen up and eat. The place was neat and tidy. The staff was excellent! Friendly and speaks good English. The public bath was an excellent experience! Sadly the hostel had a curfew. That means we could not stay out late. We were always rushing back after a long day exploring the city.
-
The place looked amazing! very nice space, with great lounge and different couches and hammocks to sit and relax. You could also reserve breakfast for the next day. There was no towel in the room and we had to pay for towel at the counter. The amenity in the Onsen were bare minimum! Just a Shampoo and Body wash. No conditioner or even a lotion.
-
The carpet in the corridors and rooms could use come cleaning/refresh
-
The place was huge with plenty of hangout places. Very peaceful. Kind of far from all the main attractions.
-
Very nice, very clean and very pretty place :) Curfew and showers/baths were only allowed parts of the day which was difficult to time around.
-
Country area The hostel must make it clear that supper must be reserved a week in advance. Only advised upon check in bad practice. Long long walk to eat.
-
Very nice layout and rooms! Staff were very helpful and it was a good atmosphere!
-
Staff here is helpful, room is clean, location is surrounded by greenery which is what i like and expected. The supermarket (Kyoto Coop, ikari) are nice.
-
Excellent and efficient , quiet even with a ton of youth
-
Really great open-concept building. Cafeteria style breakfast. Free sento. That I didn't stay longer.

The location. I stayed here for an event that was happening at the nearby theme park, which was only a 20m walk away. But if you're going to visit Kyoto generally, its about an hour bus ride, so not very convenient. The bus does run fairly regularly though.
