Richmond Hotel Premier Kyoto Shijo

This was an excellent stay. The staff was very friendly. They had plenty of activities and events daily available to guests at no additional charge. The rooms where modern and clean. NA

Well located, clean. Rooms were very small for a family of four. They wanted to charge us for extra sheets for the couch. We all slept badly since the beds were very small.

Easy access close to train station, they had several events in the evening, offering free appetizers and drink drinks, which was very nice. Breakfast was delicious. Staff was exception. I added on a night and thought that they could’ve given me a discount on that, the same charge that I paid for the other night

I just spent a day here and the kindness of the staff and the room was clean and the breakfast was the best. N/A

Could be closer to the metro station but the bus stop is quite accessible.

Location was perfect. Transportation was easy. Complimentary happy tea time and happy hour every day was fantastic. Nothing.

Beds are a little hard and their breakfast is extra charge compared to other hotels we stayed at in Japan.

The hotel is beautiful and aesthically well done. The happy hour in the afternoons were a highlight....the array of wine, whiskey, sake, beers and light snacks were a great way to start a night out. the rooms were a decent size and the location was central to shopping and amazing food options. The hotel breakfast was good and the staff are all really friendly. The housekeeping was a little confusing and we only had beds made and the rooms cleaned 2 times when we stayed. they dropped fresh towels in every day though. Was a little frustrating after a long day walking to see the beds not made up (even though we selected cleaning on the TV). The laundry facilites were a joke, nothing dries in the dryer and if you dont have coins on hand it requires lots of trips downstairs to top up. My sister ended up spending 5 hours one evening trying to get her laundry all finished and still resulted in her hanging it all in her room (and it wasnt a huge amount). The staff were very kind and friendly, however their english was pretty bad which was finer, we muddled through.

We are a family of four, had two full size beds and one cot. Room was tight with 4+ pieces of luggage but manageable. We were sight seeing most of the time and not in the room much anyway. Breakfast offered many different nationality of foods and main items changed daily. Great variety Participated in a green tea ceremony and saki testing in the hotel lobby. Staff was attentive and helpful.

You know how most hotels look amazing in the advertisements, only for you to arrive and find that reality doesn’t quite match the photos? This hotel was the complete opposite. What we saw online was exactly what we got—and if anything, the property was even better in person. Everything was accurately represented, beautifully maintained, and exceeded all expectations. The breakfast was amazing, authentic Japanese with some western options. And the hotel was connected to a supermarket downstairs, which was extremely convenient.

it is a good option if you are looking to stay near Shijo area. There is a super market just 1 min walk from the hotel and it has everything you need. The bus stand is also just 2 min walk which is handy if you are planning to go and see everything in kyoto.

The property was modern and felt a little upscale . The market next door was a plus and there were many restaurants nearby.

Everything was amazing from check in to check out. Staff were super polite, and helpful. The hotel is located right just to a fantastic market which we visited everyday. The breakfast selections were excellent.

Perfect hotel to explore Kyoto, we loved the complimentary afternoon and evening snacks and drinks, so many interesting foods to try! Would definitely stay again. We had the best meal at a nearby restaurant called Veggie Iso Terrace, highly recommend! And Rabbit Bagels also a must. Make sure to try the face masks provided in room, so nice. Can’t think of anything!

Very nice and clean. Above a very nice supermarket. A lot of food choices close by. A lot to see within walking distance.
