Bright Hotel Kiyomizu

We moved things in the room a little and made more space. All the facilities were good, even the washing machine had some liquid which was really handy. It was a basement room but we were not there much. We moved a bed and it was very dirty under there.

Property listing stated that there was laundry available however there was no laundry in the room or the building. Had to walk 15-20 min to a laundromat every time we needed to do laundry.

Great location. Communicative host. Reasonable pricing and set up. Biggest gripe was that the room was DUSTY. Like we had to keep the AC unit/heat off because it blew around so much dust that I was waking up with an itchy throat and there was fuzz and dust on everything all the time. Also the washer situation could be better. There is no drier or bathroom heater like other stays I've had so we put the rack outside to dry outside. It worked but not ideal when the washer is advertised. Also the beds are hard as rocks and a bit of a cushion or additional blankets to layer would be nice. We put a layer of our clothing under a blanket as padding each night.

Location was great, rooms were clean and tidy and had everything we needed. Could have used an extra towel and pillow.

The bathroom was well equipped and had a good separation from the rest of the room The beds were extremely firm, our window view was a brick wall, the overall vibe of the place felt a little dull and the security could be better as well as the staircase down to the entry is very difficult with suitcases

The bathroom was very large for Japanese standards! Overall very comfortable room and the location is central and convenient to visit the city. In the twin room there is no laundry service and the nearest coin one is a 15 minute walk, so keep that in mind! There is no cleaning during your stay.

I would prefer to clean the room every day.

I wish they provided two pillows instead of one. A weighing scale would also be helpful for tourists.

It’s fairly well situated, has what you would need, they also provide amenities, the sink/wc and the bath is separated. The room is very humid, so our towels couldn’t even dry. The AC dehumidifier is useless, we had to go wash all our clothes. DO NOT USE THE WASHING MACHINE, it’s completely useless, it barely washes, the spin option barely removes any water, and it does not dry the clothes at all. Our only option was to keep the window open to get some fresh air and let the towels dry (there is a button that needs to go down for the latch to open).

... There was no staff, no cleaners, and no dryers. The mattress was a box spring support, that's it. Zero support. Absolutely the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in.

It is near to Kiyomizudera, a wonderful location. 15 minutes walking from Kyoto Station and less than 10 minutes to the main temple Kiyomizudera and the Gion distric. Was super dirty, all the corners were full of dust, the bathroom, windows, behind the fridge, under the beds, kitchen, etc. was not accurate cleaned. It was lame not received daily, clean towels or cleaning service in the room. The host never show, was all remote. They service was under my expectations. You should not call yourself HOTEL. You are a guest house, and that's it.

The room has a washing machine which is handy whilst travelling, had a spacious bathroom and central location close to Gion. This is not a 'hotel', there was no staff onsite and no option to leave luggage after check out. The beds were hard as rock, extremely uncomfortable after walking around all day. The building is on a main road and our room was facing the road and it was extremely noisy at all hours of the night making for a very uncomfortable nights sleep. Overall, not worth your money.

10 minute walk to Sannenzaka. About 15 minute walk to the Keihan main line that’ll bring you to Fushimi Inari Taisha and that’ll connect you to other lines to reach other places. Was very convenient for checking in and getting to the room. Interior design felt slightly dated and was a little dark. Purely cosmetic, the location and convenience made up for it.

The location of this hotel was quite convenient and close to Kyoto Station, but about a 40 minute walk from the central area of Kyoto. Renting a bike was helpful to get to these areas. Bathroom facilities and shower were clean and adequate. The bed was SO HARD I got bruises on my hips from sleeping on my side. After a long day of walking and exploring coming back to a rock hard bed was not ideal. May as well have slept on the floor. We ended up being excited to leave the hotel to finally have a good night sleep. We could also hear the people in the room above us moving around (sounded like they were moving furniture it was that loud) and they had a child that was crying and we could hear that too. And finally, we never saw anyone attending the front desk so could not ask for new towels during our stay.

The location of this apartment is very convenient, close to the Kyoto station (20 min by bus) and all main attractions. It was very dusty in the room: the dust was on the TV, under the bed and around the fridge. Besides, there were hairs and nails of the previous guests on the floor.. There were no room cleaning services provided despite we stayed here for 1 week.
