The location is terrific, just a short walk from Kiyomizu temple. The hotel is relatively small, without 24-7 reception, which worked just fine for us. Rooms were comfy, with a nice outdoor space. For being in a big city, the hotel is remarkably quiet & secluded. Would definitely recommend! Nothing

The Mifuku is very a quiet home, central to most of the places in Kyoto. This is away from the city center but you can take a 10 minute taxi or buses to navigate. The location was perfect for our family. Kiyomizu-dera temple and Pagoda is at a short walking distance. We loved the area around this stay, there is a Samurai restaurant that serves homemade style Udon noodles. These were one of the best, it's on the street leading up to the temple. They helped us to forward our luggage to our next destination, so we didn't have to worry about it. Overall we are happy with our stay.

Location was good, it was quiet and across from a family mart. We used the laundry too which was nice and easy. WiFi was terrible and the bed was a bit hard for American standards but not much different than other Japanese beds we’ve stayed on. Room is a bit small for two people plus luggage but luggage can fit under the bed.

Beautiful room with a garden and super friendly staff Everything was perfect

-Great experience staying at a traditional Japanese house. (But you do have to sleep on the Futon) -Everything is clean and the amenities are great -They let us check-in 2 hours earlier because the room is ready anyway. (Without additional fee) -Its a walking distance to many tourist attractions, especially Kiyomizu-dera. -its a bit confusing getting to the location itself even when we took uber. But after we figured it out it was fine. -The bathroom is super tiny with the toilet adjacent to the bathtub. -I dont know why no one ever mentioned it but the building is literally next to a cemetery.

Boyd checked us in and was very helpful at recommending cool little shrines and bars off the beaten path. Loved the privacy and easy access. Could really use a full length mirror.

I really loved staying in a more traditional Japanese home. This one was very comfortable and nice. The staff is super friendly and had great suggestions for nearby restaurants and attractions. Would recommend anyone who wants to experience a ryokan!

These townhouses are so charming with your own little garden! The staff is amazing as well. Boyd in particular gave me so many terrific recommendations that helped me find new spots and navigate Kyoto efficiently. Above and beyond!

I like the location it's quiet and not to far from tourist spot.
-
it was clean and location was good it didn’t retain much heat and was very cold. it was also very small for 4 people to stay in, especially the bathroom and coffee section. the main living area was very outdated.

The hospitality of hotel and fuku is exceptional. They even have English speaking post to help those who need have a smooth trip. It is very authentic and cozy and comfortable experience

Large and spacious, Hotel Mifuku was just a small walk from Kiyomizu-dera, the large temple in Central Kyoto. Staff was extremely helpful and very pleasant.

This was the perfect location. At risk of this place getting too popular, I will disclose that it is an excellent hideaway from the crowds, yet within quick walking distance of many major areas of interest. Boyd, one of the hosts, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He even gave us some super helpful advice on local hiking trails not visible via google maps. We loved the visual quality of the materials used in the construction of the building and the tatami mats were so soft underfoot. The soothing bells (not harsh bells, more like Tibetan singing bells) in the morning were such a nice way to wake up 0 no phone alarm needed. Although if you wanted to sleep in, you could totally go back to sleep after the bells, they're not that rousing. The quiet street was a gentle respite and there was much to enjoy. Honestly there was nothing I didn't like and if I ever stay in Kyoto again I will stay here.

Sun and noise isolation is poor.

This was amazing stay! The staff, the level of comfort, the location - everything was top notch! Highly recommend!

It's a unique accommodation of what used to be an old Japanese house in old interior decoration with modern amenities . Room is very spacious with the loft bedroom . Own backyard garden is a nice touch. Boyd the staff is very helpful and gave us great recommendations where to eat. The property is a little tricky to find by yourself because it may not appear on navigation apps. The hotel can send guest a detailed map and how to get to the hotel. Some bigger cars can't get in the narrow street so you might need to get off and take a 5 minute walk with your luggages in a street with a slope.
