Rakuten STAY Kyoto Station

Excellent location. Walking distance to the Kyoto station, a large mall and Konbinis. Excellent Laundry close by. The elderly lady at the front desk is very friendly and funny. Wish they had tea/coffee making options in the room instead of having to come down first thing in the morning.

My stay at the Rakuten Hotel was really good. It's perfect if you're busy all day and just need a good place to relax at the end of the day. The check-in was easy, and there was a sweet lady at the front store that guided us. I was pleasantly surprised by how close it was to TeamLab Biovortex. The room was comfortable, and the bathtub and shower were great. The bed and pillow were okay, but thumbs up for the amenities and pajamas. We only used the TV, it was easy to connect with our phone. It's 10 min from Kyoto station, but a pretty okay walk, even with luggage. The pillows were a bit hard.

Room is clean a bit too tight for my liking for 2, waited 4 hours for pillows (cleaning lady didn’t understand ?)

Room was elegant and well equipped with ameninites. We couldn't use the projector as it has issues with switching to english. Perhaps a guide ahould be left on the table for that.

Great location and good room

Location to Kyoto station was excellent. The staff went above and beyond. Staff made the stay exceptional. The noise from the street and the pipes when water was being run next door.

Clean, modern, nice friendly and helpful staff, conveniently located, good price Only one chair in a room for 2 people, rooms are quite small, pillows are not so comfortable, big bright ceiling light is too bright - how about putting wall lamps for each bed? Check in is slightly difficult to do on your own

Stayed 2 night. it was a small room but neatly organized and clean, also was equipped nice bathroom with tub that I could relieve fatigue and relax at the end of day. There was pretty much nothing I could think of making things better, but if I have to say it, it would be nicer to have a softer bed mattress.

Poor staff service, only 1 pillow provided, 1 day cleaning per week

The AC, even if i turned it off, he turns on few minutes later, the remote was on japanese so i couldn't understand how to deal with it Ps: they gave u a manual how to turn it on and off but it didn't work for me

The location is really perfect, next to Kyoto Station and some Bus Stop. I could see the amazing Kyoto Tower from my window. The staff were really helpful and always update the information and made a tutorial about checkin process.

Nice facility, great sanitary areas - showers, restroom. The wall projection was not much of add on as it was not great resolution on the wall. Would have been good to have a small lounge to seat and have coffee or a bite to eat in the morning A bit too many emails from the property. At one point was annoying. Check in was done in advanced as requested but again we were asked to do check in at the property with picture taking and passport copy again. This was a bit unnecessary and could have been avoided if initial check in was accounted for properly.

Preferred if they have concierge services to store the luggage. Cleaning services only provided every 7days. Slightly confusing on which exit to take from the Kyoto station.

The room is very big compared to japanese standard. the bathroom is spacious and comfortable. there's enough room to open large suitcases and a table to work. the check in is quite a hassle (long procedure) and front desk close so early. the location is quite far from kyoto station too.

Well located

Security, cleanliness, reasonably quiet, easy to enter and exit, easy checkout, linens and towels were good quality, interior of room is newly furnished. The Checkin code wasn't clear at first as it asked for 'reservation code'. I typed it in 3 times, but it was incorrect. I had to faff around looking in different emails for a different code, but then I realised that the reservation code is your phone number. The location is not near any touristic stuff. There are some restaurants but many are about 10 mins walk away. Despite this it is near Kyoto station, so you can get subway or a bus to many different locations. My advice would be to do a lot of research into how the Japanese subway and train system works. It's not as easy as just turning up at the station and buying a ticket. The station is huge, there is an overwhelming number of signs, but often the sign youre looking for isnt there, and there are so many different types of ticket machines. We ended up queuing for a long time and then getting to the machine only to realise it was the wrong type of machine. Apart from going to the tourist office (which I recommend) theres no one you can ask for help. We ended up on the wrong side of some barriers once with a guard yelling at us. Don't just rely on google maps.

All of the staff was really wonderful and helpful. You can buy many snacks/foods in the lobby. Great location, near Kyoto station and bus stops. Not too many rooms makes the hotel feel more personal. Always had fresh towels every day. Very quiet, I never heard any noise from other rooms. They can transport your luggage for a fee. The next time I'm in the area I will make it a point to stay here. Nothing at all. Everything was wonderful.
