We had a very pleasant 3-night stay in Kyoto. The location is excellent! Very central and close to the famous Gion district, yet in a quiet and peaceful area. Public transport is extremely convenient, with a metro station and several bus stops just a short walk away, making it easy to explore the city. The room was compact but perfectly suitable for two people with two suitcases, which is quite typical for Japan. Everything was very clean and well maintained, and the space was comfortable for our stay. The staff were very kind and helpful, always ready to assist when needed. We also used the laundry facilities, which were very convenient during our trip. A lovely surprise was discovering what might be the best mochi we had in Kyoto, from a small workshop almost next to the hotel where they make them fresh. Overall, this was a very comfortable, clean, and well-located place to stay, and we truly enjoyed our time here. We highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Kyoto.

Very comfortable with quiet neighborhood close to Musueum of Modern Art, metro station, neighborhood shopping and conveniences. Nothing

Good sized room, comfortable beds, convenient location!
-
Beautiful boutique hotel along Shirakawa Canal, just north of the busy part of Higashiyama. Close and convenient enough for easy access; far away enough to feel like Kyoto used to feel.

The location of the hotel was great! We were close to trains and busses and a fairly quick (20 minute) walk from some great areas for shopping, dining, and sightseeing. The room was spacious enough and had everything we needed. We were so grateful for the complimentary waters in our room and it was the most comfortable bed we had during our time in Japan so that was a plus! The staff was very kind and helpful and always greeted us with a smile. The only thing that could be improved is that the lobby always smelled like cigarette smoke. Past the lobby, the smell faded but I didn't enjoy being greeted by smoke every time we entered the hotel.

Pretty much we liked everything except: We got used to laundry being in the room so we had to do some tactics about it, don't trust it's drying you will need 2x or just wash it and dry in your bathroom on the bathroom heater View, we were looking at the wall ?

Very clean, easy to access and near train stations and bus stations

A room with comfortable beds, a sitting area, a desk, a fridge, an electric kettle, and a nice bathroom. Everything you need, comfy and clean.

Great hotel at great location. Small hotel with friendly staff. No restaurant so for breakfast you need to go into town. Nearby there is a few places to have breakfast en even closer by is a Lawson convenience store. Metro station is a 2 min walk. Rooms are very nice and comfortable beds. I really enjoyed this gem in Kyoto

The location was fantastic. The neighborhood was exactly what I'd hoped for: on a side street, right next to the canal/river, and close to temples, museums, etc. It was a very quiet neighborhood, easy to walk around in. We could have rented bikes if the weather was cooler, but it was in the middle of summer and was really hot. But the subway access is very close (just about a block away). There were plenty of a variety of restaurants that were very walkable. In fact, there were 4 within a block. We didn't get to try those, but if we go back, we definitely would. They were obviously well-liked by locals. The staff was SO helpful and accommodating. They held our luggage after checkout and even called us a cab to Kyoto Station when we picked up our luggage. So very kind and helpful. The rooms were relatively spacious, with a great bathroom/shower/bath. We didn't use the laundry on-site, but it was available. And tea was available near the lobby. Great security. Honestly, it was exactly what I hoped for and was such a nice landing spot from our daily outings in Kyoto. Highly recommend.

Excellent location, just a quick taxi (or pleasent walk) to many temples. Close to the subway but not at all crowded. It was a very peaceful area. Staff were helpful and rooms were clean and comfortable. Washing machine was easy to use and not busy. You do need to plan dinner carefully as many of the restaurants nearby close early.
