The staff was amazing, really caring and attentive. Location is god’ just one train away from the main market area

The room was noticeably larger than most places I’ve stayed in Japan, which made it especially comfortable, and the shower was excellent. They also offered complimentary drinks in the evening, which was a great added touch. Overall, it was a perfect stay and I’d absolutely come back. Only thing was the “king bed” was just two twins squished together but overall very nice

Great location, wonderful staff, the breakfast was fresh and tasty. It’s located very close to several bus stops and the subway so we traveled all over Kyoto. Nothing. Everything was perfect.

It's a boutique hotel, near a stream, excellent design of common spaces, cozy. Breakfast was good, free snacks and beverages in the afternoon. Very well located, in the same block of the metro station. Quiet neighborhood. The room was small but average to japanese hotels. Staff very helpful. everything was awsome.

Corner room was great size, and feel. Luv the shower and tub room.

After staying at this wonderful hotel, no other hotel will ever satisfy me again. The hotel staff was very nice. They always greeted us, and their English is very good. When it was snowing, they gave us towels when we entered to dry off, which is very thoughtful. I felt at ease in this hotel, becuase the staff were always there to help and kept everything exceptionally clean. I hope the staff know that their hard work is appreciated. The hotel is charming and in the perfect area of Kyoto, which is beautiful but not too touristy and not noisy. I love that from the first floor, there is a view of the stream outside. It is easy to sleep because there is no noise at night. The hotel's breakfast and happy hour snacks are delicious, and they use local ingredients and foods. The beds are comfortable, and the provided toiletries are great and all made in Japan. I plan to return in the future.

Amenities in the room, lighting, speakers in the shower, super comfortable and cosy lobby with evening drinks. The staff were also super friendly and helpful. Nowhere to put a bicycle and no English TV channels.

Such a lovely hotel with the kindest and most thoughtful staff. The hotel is very simple and clean, with the rooms having amazing natural light and comfortable beds. Of course a bit on the small side, but this is Japan. While it is compact there is excellent use of space and light so you feel very comfortable. Free sake and wine in the lobby in the evenings, and the hotel staff kindly will put your bags in your room if you have them delivered from another hotel without even needing to ask. The location has amazing food all around, and it is nice and quiet set on a canal, away from the crazy tourist areas, but still close enough to walk to. Everything was great for this price point.

Very nice boutique-hôtel, well located bear Gion and very close to the subway. The lobby is welcoming with a small exhibition and a charming book library. We also appreciated the happy hour. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The ratio quality-price is definitey very good! Nothing we didn’t like, but it’s worth mentionkjg that reading the reviews proie to booking, sine last guests were disppoikhed because they were under the impression this would be a 5*. I don’t know what they were thinking this. I would have been disappointed if I was expectant a 5*, but from the website, photos and price, it was clear to me that this was a nice boutique hotel and it met all my expectations (even exceeded them).

The location is good, the public area very nice, and the staff extremely welcoming. The cocktail hours are lovely to wind down after a day of doing touristy things.

The room was very comfortable with enough space. Everything was so new and clean. The staff was very friendly and they even asked us what we might want for breakfast. Located right next to a subway station. Great value. The breakfast was a little bit limited, but everything was fresh and tasty

I have nothing negative to say! I would note that the rooms are standard Japanese hotel sizes (meaning smaller for those use to American-sized rooms). If you've stayed in Japanese hotels before you will find these rooms to be standard, but the design touches here set it above the rest.

The best hotel of our whole Japan trip. Amazing room, spaces were super clean, the best bath we took was there. Location is amazing too. Nothing at all.

Functional room and very detail oriented staff

Location was excellent, the room was clean and the shower was probably the best shower of any hotel we've stayed in. We also enjoyed the complimentary happy hour. The breakfast was woeful and we feel like we wasted our money getting it. It was so poor we ended up going out for breakfast every morning. Do not waste your money. The hotel lists itself as 5 stars, but in reality its closer to 3 or a low end 4 star hotel by US standards. Your room is serviced every 3 days (!), very small and every time you want to use an iron/steamer, you have to call the front desk.
