Motel 6 La Mesa, CA - San Diego

Amazing!

It was so dirty! We killed a cockroach and a spider. The room also smelled funny, the soap was filthy with something brown on it. And the mini fridge was not working. When we mentioned it to the staff, they did nothing to help us. For the $300 dollars I spent I was expecting at least a clean room. Seriously, if I could do it all over again I would pay more to stay somewhere clean.

Definitely recommend easy fast friendly and wonderful last min grab!

Hotel

This Motel 6 provided good value and a pleasant stay. A couple of suggestions (which I hope will be incorporated as I look forward to my next visit). 1. The cleanser used for tidying the rooms has a far too industrial scent. It needs to be toned down or replaced with something lighter and brighter. 2. Try to add some landscaping. The entire lot has maybe five trees and no grass. It's all pavement and cars. If landscaping is out of the question, add some flower baskets. 3. The neon lights in the rooms are garish. Try for a warmer, softer tone. In sum, giving the place a cozier, more welcoming vibe will do wonders and add to the strengths (nice TV, comfortable bed, big and clean rooms) already in place.

Staff was helpful. Fridge was leaking and not working. Phone when I tried to call front desk had no dial tone. TV was glitching (every channel). All was reported to staff. Bed was hard. We only stayed one night but was not comfy. Parking was fine, area was quiet and safe. Food areas close by.

This has been the cleanest hotel ever!!! No blackness on bottom of feet/socks.. Best Motel 6 as well, because they kept a full shower, unlike the others ive been to that had "modernized the room" and put in a corner shower with no room to shower properly. Office lady was so kind and helpful when checking in. Also, when we came back from a day out you can even smell the lovely scented cleaner from housekeeping. AC worked very well and the room/motel has been updated and well kept. Great lighting too! Beds were bit firm but had good support. The pillows were pretty much the downside of the time there. Thin pillows and needed 3 to be typical thickness of 1 good pillow. Plus they were firm, being so flat.

The amenities were very basic there is no microwave, no hair dryer, no iron. I made sure there was at least a fridge before checking in but there nothing else, maybe some hangers. It wasn’t bad. The shower worked well. there was a TV. And I like the back light on the headboard. That made for a good nightlight. The biggest issue was sound. Thankfully, I had quiet neighbors so that helped a lot, but if I had noisy neighbors, it would have been a very different experience. You can hear the freeway from your room. You can hear literally everything outside of the room. There is a gap between the wall, where all of the sound comes in. Again I got very, very lucky that my neighbors were quiet. But if you’re looking for any kind of soundproofing, you’re really going to need solid noise canceling headphones. Like I said, overall, not bad, but if your neighbors are noisy, you will have an issue.

Dang crackheads!

Honestly, I liked everything easy check-in simple stay easy checking my pad on with me. It was just all around. Good experience. I would definitely recommend this place especially if you have animals.
