A beautiful hilltop small hotel; where it is easy to find private spaces by the lovely pool, have delicious breakfast, lunch or dinner with kind, smiling and attentive staff. The bed was amazing, and the view from the balcony with beautiful sunsets was so romantic. An easy walk takes you to a lovely village. If you feel like it, there are wonderful hiking paths around the hotel, an great places to visit close by. If you rent a car, remember the roads in Liguria are narrow and windy.

On the plus side the view from the hotel was beautiful, the staff were pleasant and always ready to help giving good restaurant recommendations and travel advice, the food was good - albeit very expensive and the staff provided us with a packed breakfast as we had an early flight from Pisa. The hotel was difficult to find. You can’t drive to the hotel – you have to park in the village car park and the hotel then send a golf buggy to transport you the last 500m. Some may find this adds to exclusivity, but we found it irritating. The sign in the car park was very small and while they were very prompt in transporting us whenever we asked, I suspect during peak season there’s likely to be a wait. The room and balcony was pleasant with a great sea view, but nothing exceptional and the bathroom was small, rather tired, with one of those weak, poor quality hairdryers attached to the wall. Breakfast was served to us in the room and on the first morning included poor quality bottled fruit juice. When we asked for orange juice we were told they didn’t have any! Following us complaining about it they provided freshly squeezed orange juice the next morning. The quality of the dinner and service was good, but very expensive. The choice was limited to 4 or 5 dishes per course, which in itself is not a problem, but we were advised that the menu was the same all through the season so if you were staying for more than a few days you’d run out of choices. We were advised that the chef could provide a special, but this wasn’t offered to us until we asked. The infinity pool was nice with a good view, but not heated and hence chilly at the end of the season.. There were 2 smallish heated hot tubs and a modest well being area with sauna etc - not 5 star luxury facilities. We stayed at the hotel right at the end of the season and so probably didn’t see it at it’s best , but 5 star should be 5 star irrespective of the number of guests , particularly at over £700 per night!

Only the view! Unfortunately My Girlfriend and Myself had to Leave the Hotel “Golfo dei Poeti Relais & Spa Hotel” before we even spent a full night there. This had multiple reasons. But we will get there now when we explain your short stay in the Hotel mentioned above. We left Portofino in the afternoon of the 22.08.22 and got on the roads towards the Hotel. Once we got there we had problems finding the Parking of the Hotel. After a short time we spotted a man on an electric scooter that worked for the Hotel we where looking for. He showed us the garage where we could park. It was very difficult to get into the garage because it was tight and We nearly damaged the car. The garage was a dump with construction equipment lying around. It also was dirty with 2-3cm dust on the floor, the windows in the garage where covered with Algae. I actually did not want to leave the car there but it was the only safe option. The driver of the scooter then offered us a lift to the Hotel. We got to the reception, a women checked us into our room and showed us all the details. After the check in, we had a look around the room and we where shocked with what we found (We took pictures). The shower was full with black fungus. The corners of the room where full of dust and dirt and the air conditioner was full with dust and Hair. We then walked through the hotels estate and this is what we found (we took pictures): - cracked walls - paint patching on the walls - broken lighting - dry and dead vegetable and herb gardens dry grass - old signing that was hard to read - tec area for the air conditioning behind the Pool Bar - tec tent for pool technology in the garden next to the pool bar with pipes running through the garden to the pool.

especially the service team at the restaurant and bar beside of the magnificent view they where internally focused, and they had no good information on hand about activities around and alternatives in the surrounding. Seems like they have no interest that some wants to choose as well as restaurant beside the own one. Further it is obvious that loving couples are going there and are not holding back even if kids are around.

Serene and quiet with beautiful views, relaxing environment, lovely pool, comfortable bed, helpful staff. A great place to stay if complete relaxation is the goal. Although beautiful, in some ways the hotel could have been anywhere - that is, it did not feel uniquely Italian. The shower lacked privacy (visible from the bedroom and also from outside if the curtains weren’t drawn).

view outstanding very nice staff feeling of being in a cocoon as not many guests and several spaces for people perfect for couple retreat pool view great funny to take a tuk tuk to hotel but well organised and understandable considering the street width. as long as you call 10 mins before coming no problem great breakfast a la Carte restaurant or if more relaxed have the possibility to have an aperitif diner which was great service a bit long at the restaurant more than a 4 star but not a 5 star - bit pricy jacuzzi warm but not hot
