Marina Club Lagos Resort

Some of the fitting are a bit outdated , they should consider refurbishing it before it starts to look run down

We stayed at the Marina Club for a week and, as with our four previous stays, had a lovely time. The location is excellent close to restaurants and activities and a short walk to the beach and the rooms are always clean and well equipped. These are the reasons we keep coming back The resason for the poor rating I have given is outlined below. If it wasn't for this I would have given a much higher rating. Unfortunately, an incident at the end of this stay left a poor impression, given how small the amount involved was. About three hours after checking out, I got a call from the hotel confirming my name, asking if we still had luggage there (we did, for an evening flight), and whether we were still in the area. The line was poor, so I said I'd return, and was told the issue would be explained then. At reception, I learned we'd left without closing our account, €3 owed for coffee pods. I then remembered: earlier in the week I'd sent my sons to buy coffee pods with a €20 note. They returned with the coffee and the money, as reception had no change and said we could pay later. It had simply slipped my mind. What made this frustrating is that at checkout, we'd handed back our key, stored luggage,etc. We were at reception for several minutes, and nobody mentioned any balance owed. Being phoned three hours later over €3 the hotel itself hadn't managed to take felt disproportionate, more like being treated as someone who'd skipped a bill than a guest who'd simply forgotten a charge put on hold. I have no issue paying what I owe and said so at reception. Staff offered to waive the fee, but I said that wasn't the point, if it mattered enough to phone over, I wanted to pay it. I also asked to speak to a manager about the experience. I was told they were unavailable, and suggested a call back, since the hotel clearly had my number. Four days later, I've heard nothing. From a guest relations perspective, I'd expected far better handling, both in how this was raised and the lack of follow-up. This isn't really about €3. It's that the approach felt out of step with the experience we've otherwise had here, and the silence since suggests it wasn't worth addressing. The hotel itself is genuinely good. But after this, I'd really have to think about whether we'd return.

Swimming pool. Easy private parking. Fast check in. Good air conditioner. Well equipped kitchenette.

Could be better if an additional bathroom or powder room available for family room

This was our 6th or 7th stay a Marina Club Lagos. We keep coming back because we really like all aspects of our stays. This time room seemed to be battered with things broken and not working. I have photos of the towel hooks falling off the door, the broken shower controller and the microwave which had greasy stains on the front during our entire stay and, worse, the buttons labels were missing so we couldnt tell the timer from the heat setting. The worst part of our stay was the Wi-Fi. We complained and asked for a room change several times. The front desk told us that there were no other rooms (for a week at a 141 rooom hote!!!l) and that THEIR Wi-Fi was working fine. They did not offer any help at all. My wife is an M.D. so she has to stay in touch with her patients. We resorted to going to nearby restaurants to use their wifi. This was all very disappointing.

Everything was great. Staff were nice and helpful always. Location was quick to get places. Breakfast was a great healthy spread!! Worth it!! Lovely view of marina too. Complimentary water in room would have been a thoughtful and kind touch instead of paying several euros for a basic need. The room fresheners/ products used were putting off - strong and stayed inside closets even. Not sure if they knew.

The pool bar/snack place seemed to open at 12pm.

The location is about 10 min walk from old town, along a flat promenade. Very walkable. The hotel itself is exemplary in it's staff, cleanliness and rooms. We had a 1 bedroom apartment which was attended every day. Spotless. Our bedroom was on ground floor facing the street. It was lovely and quiet but the overhang from the apartment above prevented any sun reaching the balcony. To be fair this is not really a complaint.

Location to harbor and downtown area were very good. The rooms were rather tired and rundown. The living area though large was not comfortable.

We paid to use the spa the pool fountains didn't work and the light inside the sauna didn't work the desk person looked less than intersted in anything but getting the 10 euros each for use of that part of the building.

Everything within walking distance, restaurants, old town, grocery store etc.. The facility was clean, friendly staff, great bar and pool. Nothing negative to say.

We would definitely go back. There wasn't anything we didn't like!

The location. The bar atmosphere. 2 single beds not put together for a queen. 4 pillows to make up 1. Awful red pleather headboard and old faded red throw rugs. Only overhead rain shower where the glass panel kept opening and spraying water all over the floor. Very tiny fridge. Limited kitchen cooking materials and everything stuck to the bottom of the frying pans so unable to fry an egg. Uncomfortable sitting chairs to watch TV. Outdoor furniture also uncomfortable for sitting with a tiny side table. No dining table.

Everything about the resort was perfect.
