Chateau Royale Inn

I liked the location. The pool must be under construction because it was drained. I asked ahead of time for a King size bed and didn't get one.

Although we had a ‘suite’ the second room did not have a pullout couch, just a sofa. Pros: it was affordable. Staff were pleasant. Parking was essy.

The front desk clerks were the only positive part of our experience at the Chateau Royale. They were friendly, helpful and accommodating. We only needed a clean hotel room to shower and sleep. When we arrived we were told that they had just given away their last room with a king sized bed. We were shown a room with 1 queen bed, broken furniture and a lot of dust - not sure when the last time it was cleaned. Next room was a "newly painted" room with 2 queens. The room was fair but the bathroom was atrocious. We went to Walmart, purchased bathroom cleaner & sponges and scrubbed the bathtub and sink area to make it passable. Later on we found dead bugs in the dresser and on the floor. The property is dated which is fine, but it could use a good deep clean. The No Smoking signs are just a suggestion. Stale smoke smell was all around. Do not be fooled by the pictures on line! We checked out the next day (1 day earlier than we had planned) and found a cleaner hotel outside of Lake Geneva.

Nothing. The sheets had cigarette holes in them, the blanket 1000% had human seed dried onto it, paint chipped everywhere and the bathtub looked like a chipped blue chemical explosion. We walked right out and was told we’d have a refund the next day. It is still showing that the payment processed and it’s been almost a week.

Staff was friendly, room was very clean. I was upgraded to an apartment suite which was lovely. I was very comfortable and it was very quiet. The location is an easy walking distance to the downtown area and lake.

Perfect location. Easy in and out. Easy parking. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Plenty of hot water and water pressure. Staff was very nice and friendly and helpful. Everything was good.

The property is dated but was well maintained. Room was spacious. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom needs updating.

Price and close to town. Staff was very friendly and helpful Carpet in the hallway needs to be replaced !!

Room was fine. Bed was fine. Location was fine. Shower looked dirty. Water valve very sticky. no adjustment of flow from shower head.

Bad

The room? Broken furniture, broken bathroom door, broken shower, broken outlet... None of the pictures online seemed honest -- this place is on its last legs. I'd give it 1 star but it's walkable from town and the front desk refunded our second night when we bailed early because the hotel is so bad.

It was a very basic hotel but we weren't looking for anything fancy. Just a good place to sleep. Beds were comfy, air worked very well. Staff very helpful with suggestions of places to eat, attractions. If you are ever in Lake Geneva and looking for a cheap, awesome food Olympic family restaurant downtown

We got to hotel at 3:05 pm and had to wait for some to show up (a sign was up stating "out for 15 minutes".)a reception person came at 3:30pm. A kinda weird start. I left a tee shirt in the top drawer of a dresser and when I called back 5 hours after checking out they said they would look but they stated no one found a tee shirt. This seems strange since no one would want the shirt, so I suspect they did not really look for it. My bad for leaving it, just sad to lose a tee shirt which was a present to me from a class I taught s 20 years ago. My impression is that they did not look for it, perhaps they did, but that is how I feel. Room was ok, bed not the best, a small 15 year old tv, but a decent shower. I would not give this place a strong recommendation, but if I had to I would go back again. Place just needs upkeep and renovation.
