Lake Tekapo Village Motel

Very clean property. Comfortable room with a spacious bathroom. Had a wonderful conversation with the young man in reception. The restaurant for which we received a voucher for breakfast was sketchy. Although easily accessible from our room, there was definitely a language barrier as the employees were all Chinese and only one or two spoke adequate English. We were surprised to have to purchase our beverage for breakfast, as well. In addition, my husband observed one of the ladies from the kitchen remove a used plate from the table, pick up something from the plate, remove part of it into the trash, and put the other piece somewhere behind the wall in the area where they prepared our food. A bit off putting.

Room was clean. Towels were provided. There was a small refrigerator and some basic cups and utensils. Balcony was a bonus to look at the night sky. The hotel was hard to find when driving through the plaza. Better signage is needed. We arrived after the office was no longer staffed. Our key was taped to the outside of the door. A map was provided, but a challenge to navigate. It was hard to find a parking spot. A room on the second floor was a challenge to get luggage up the steps. There was no one to contact after hours if there was an issue. There was noise going on late in the evening and we could not contact anyone. The hotel is a bit pricey based on lack of any amenities.

Great view of lake Tekapo if you have the top floor. Convenient location in the town center. Love that you have heated bed control. Big room. Balcony needs some repainting and the glass front door— I could hear all noises early in the morning. Strange shower layout.

Price is a bit high.

Close to everything! Clean! Nothing

Room was nice and clean, spacious and had a great view of the lake. Loved access to laundry! Breakfast was okay but not worth the $25.00. Most of the seating was reserved for tourists groups and it seemed like the staff was mostly concerned with serving these groups. Wish we were charged $25 less and the we would have gone to the cafe next door.

A bit outdated, but very clean and it's nice to see everything doesn't need to be updated and replaced so often.

Netflix on tv, location, and breakfast. Lack of microwave in kitchenette, leaking toilet tank, and some noise from outside.

Location/view No sheets for pullout bed. Breakfast choices were limited.

It was close to everything we were wanting you to do; Dark Sky Experience, walking, restaurants. The buses parked in front that left their motors running for a very long time as they waited on their passengers, the light outside our back door that shone into our room (needs a blind on it). A slightly larger TV. The bathroom facilities needed some updating but were adequate. The Doughboys Bakery, where we used our voucher for breakfast, was not very inviting. No warmth of cosiness that would make you want to sit and relax and the music in the kitchen was loud and not appealing.

Location was very handy. Some of the furniture is a bit tired.

Room is big and comfortable. The location is excellent, the nearest hotel to Lake Tekapo. 2-3 minutes walk to lakeside. The staff is nice and helpful. I had problem with my eSIM card and can’t make local call. The gentleman helped me to call horse ride owner to confirm pickup location. The lady at reception helped me to deal with breakfast restaurant for my breakfast. The door is frosted glass, felt a little bit not comfortable.

Location is right in the middle of the town and only meters from restaurants. Parking is right at your door. We had room 12 which was warm and the bathroom was very large and would be suitable for anyone who need accessible facilities. There was a view from the front landing of the mountains and the lake but it was through buildings. The bed was comfortable, and the room was large. Breakfast at Doughboy Cafe was included and was a full hot breakfast which was great. The staff at the accommodation were friendly and helpful. The price is a little high however Lake Tekapo has higher prices for accommodation in the South Island.

Good position hard to find for first time. Nice room with convenient parking outside. Self serve key pick up

The room was Lake view, but you can't see the Lake!!! Very frustrating

The location is prime No microwave inside the room but thats not really a big issue
