The Hive Hotel Samui

The location, the staff and the vibe. I only found out the last day that we could order a ommelette. I missed a smart tv to watch some netflix.

Good breakfast with amazing views. Comfortable rooms, and gardens with decorative statues and a huge variety of plants

The hotel and stuff are great, great location, pool is nice near the sea The mosquitoes is the problem , as in this property it has a lot may be because all the beautiful trees ( like a jungle) and the stuff really trying to overcome the problem but still, the second thing is breakfast is the same every day ,for long vacation it is a problem

Great staff, comfortable room, right on the beach, nice pool. Fabulous buffet breakfast. Had dinner one night and that was good too. There was very loud music and noise from the nearby clubs pounding all night. :(

Great location- near beach,shops and restaurants. Large and clean rooms. Friendly staff, good breakfast.

It was close to a lot of great place to eat and drink. I would like an omelette bar for the breakfast buffet. It was a very good breakfast though the precooked eggs were not great.

Tarn,Am, and Jamila went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable upon our arrival. They assisted us with excursion choices and transportation around the island. We definitely recommend staying at the Hive and hope to return in the near future.

The breakfast was excellent. Wonderful restaurant with full seaside view. Poll area and beach was very clean. No issues with access to lounge chairs. Beach was beautiful to walk, it never felt overly crowded with many casual beach bars and restaurants. Although it was not super loud, we could hear the music from a nearby bar until 3 or 4 am - best to bring ear plugs if this would be an issue

Location was great with the pool overlooking the sea and lots to do in area.

We liked the location of this hotel, directly on a really nice beach where we could go on long walks. The water was warm. Lots of loungers to sit on, both on sand and around the pool. Several umbrellas for the sun. They also provide rain umbrella, which were super handy as it rained every day we were there but one. The grounds are lush and beautiful and pretty well maintained. Walkable area with lots of restaurants, bars and shops. The food we ordered from the restaurant was all really good, and the staff was really nice, although mostly shy and not engaging. We really wanted to love this hotel and area, but we just didn't. We were there celebrating our 20 year anniversary and it didn't feel special at all. We were kind of excited walking through the grounds when we were first taken to our room (lush and beautiful grounds, adorable bungalows) but so disappointed when we walked in. Ugly, sparse, just not your typical Thai esthetics. At least it was a good size. It rained so much during our stay, and we didn't want to spend any time in our ugly room (couldn't even read on our porch because of the MOSQUITOES), so the only option was the restaurant. The bathroom was terrible, especially the shower; you couldn't just stand under it as it sprayed directly on the wall at the other end of the large stall, you had to hand hold it to get the water on your body (and not just the back of your head). The whole place just felt neglected and a little depressing. Definitely not as cute as the listing photos (those were probably taken years ago). We walked around town a bit (with umbrellas) and that was sad & depressing too. The vibe very much felt like older-white-guys-trying-to-score-younger-Thai-women... Also tons of weed shops. No judgment on either, but not at all what. my husband and I were looking for on our vacation.

Our experience was absolutely terrible. Before arrival and careful reading of negative reviews we wanted to save our holiday and cancel. As it was booked as non-refundable, they had right to refuse to refund us. Despite that we decided to check in and see it with our own eyes. I honestly burst into tears, as room was depressing, worse than a cheap tourist hostel. The beach nearby was awful-dirt, crowded full of sellers pushing massages and cheap goods. Area is terrible - full of loud nightclubs, prostitution bars, noise and dirt. the pool area was dirty, crowded, and the furniture was old, tired and not welcoming at all. This is not your place if you are looking for relaxation or a decent environment. We left immediately after check in. Manager called me and was quite rude, offering voucher to use to stay in the hotel we run away from (?), blaming me for cancelling late. We were forced to find another hotel last minute, which caused us stress and extra expenses. I am also very surprised by all the positive reviews here. Honestly I wouldn't believe them after what we experienced. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone - dishonest management, terrible service, and very depressing surroundings. Avoid at all costs.

Unfortunately, the rooms are dark and rather tired and worn. The rooms could use some renovation, lighter tones, new doors, and warmer lighting. The towels also need to be replaced. Only the beach towels were fine.

Didint meet our expectations. But the staff was very nice and helpful.
