Filario Hotel & Residences

No real complaints. It's tough to get around the Lake Como area, but the staff are very helpful assisting with transit (Bus, Boat or Car).

The location was quite, beautiful scenery, the staff were very professional and accommodating. The food options were extremely limited for most of the day given the remote location. Only Pizza and salad were available for most of the day. The restaurant options were fair and not available for most of the day. Travelers from abroad expect more options for Italian food that were juts not offered throughout the day.

The location was amazing! The hotel staff was also very nice, the views are second to none! The fact that there were steps from the building to move 6 pieces of large luggage on our own the morning of us leaving to a place it can be loaded was not ideal. The staff did make suggestions and the driver helped too. The fine dining restaurant for dinner was great in terms of the quality and craftsmanship of the food, but the selection could have been better, the dishes were pretty nuanced.

The view is amazing and the location is fine if you want to pay for uber or water taxis to get anywhere. The pool is very nice and the beach access is good as well. Excellent lake access, Good offering of kayaks and paddle boards. Swimming pool was clean fresh and nice to be in. Overall for the price we paid for 3 nights I was expecting a lot more and have received more from other places for less. I really wanted to give this a much higher rating but there are too many logistical, design and staff issues. First the residence rooms are poorly equipped , no microwave, no toaster, just 4 plates and no steak knives .. the closets are poorly designed and you can’t hang dresses as they hit the floor and you can’t close the closet doors. Next, only certain guests get the welcome bag / hat that is part of the brand and it’s impossible to purchase according to the SMUG receptionist who wasn’t nice about it all. It made us feel very unwelcome. You must have a car to traverse the roadways , they are narrow and dangerous and I would not recommend to walk them at all. And while we had a washing machine for clothes we had to hang them to dry on the balcony and chairs .. it wasn’t til the last day they brought in a drying rack.

They did not have a shop in the property and the food service was limited as well as no room service.

The property is not a 4 star hotel, closer to 3. It is very remote, there are no taxis and no Ubers. Their drivers charge an arm and a leg for the car service and private boat service since the ferry’s last stop is at 5:20. The manager/ owner argued with us often as we asked politely to leave earlier due to the lack of sidewalks and exorbitant amount to money they charge for the rides. They declined. Then we had multiple issues with cleaning staff for turning on a towel warmer that cooked all of our toiletries and lying about it or when they charged us 100 euros for a breakfast of dry bread, cheese and cold cuts while claiming we had fruits, yogurts and assortments of condiments. In filario the staff is always right and the client is wrong! I got sick there and had to call front desk three times to see and doctor and or get an ambulance..Their food was not great. Their beach was ok. Their breakfast was not great. Some of the front desk staff and restaurant servers we’re wonderful. The property felt like a resort. Our room had an amazing view of the lake. The town was in a great location but away from all the tourists and madness that was in towns like Bellagio. N/A

That was perfect holiday! Stuff is incredibly friendly, and always eager to help! Breakfast is tasty. Hotel organized some cool trip to Villa del Balbianello.

Filario combines modern luxury with true Italian charm. We left completely relaxed and already dreaming of returning. Nothing

You do have to rely on a bus or water taxi to get to Bellagio unless you have a rental car. But being off the beaten path was also a plus as it was much quieter and not crowded like Bellagio.

Beautiful property and location nice and small The restaurant dinner menu. There was no good dinner options so we ended up taking a 15 minute walk for dinner every day which was fine. Wish they had the summer menu available all year.

Restaurant was superb and staff so professional. Food excellent from breakfast through to lunch and dinner. The spa is largely an outdoor experience except for the gym. We were therefore extremely unlucky to have such poor weather for the whole of our time there meaning we could enjoy none of the facilities. Certainly not the hotels fault but just worth being aware that the spa and all the lovely facilities are very weather dependent.

Beautiful setting. Not for people that have a disability. Beach is hard to walk with all the rocks. No walkway provided
