The staff was extremely helpful and nice, and I appreciated that the bunk beds have curtains and outlets. Lockers working with the same keycard as for the door are super convenient. The bathrooms were very clean, and it was quiet and easy to sleep at night. I had no trouble with AC during my stay, and everything worked correctly. I had some trouble finding the hostel and getting inside, before I noticed the doorbell. Thankfully there were girls outside I could ask for help, but if I got there late at night I would be quite confused. There was some gum on the wall and my bedframe stuck by the previous person, but that was really the only cleanliness issue. My biggest problem was with the area. I probably could have researched it better before booking the hostel, but as a single woman I felt extremely unsafe leaving the hostel. I read the reviews saying that it's sketchy by night, but even during the day I couldn't figure out a safe way to get to the centre by foot. Especially closer to the evening the streets were filled with groups of men and I often couldn't see a single other woman there, and trying to leave the main street would mean you end up in run-down alleyways. I also saw a woman getting robbed in broad daylight not far from the hostel and it made me even more scared. If you're not travelling solo it would probably be fine, but if you're alone I would advise against booking anything in Mouraria/near Moniz.

The accomodation was a the center of the city accessible to the Metro, bus, trams etc. It was literally a minute walk to Metro, Bus station, tram, restaurants, cafe, shopping centres etc. The kitchen was really good and we could cook anything that we wanted. It was always kept clean and tidy. The bathrooms were cleaned meticulously and housekeeping was fantastic. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Chiago in particular was very helpful. The area could be filled in the evening with single foreign men but never troublesome. They would be minding their own business. You leave the place in the morning and come back only to sleep and what more can you ask for.

It’s very very clean and comfortable. The facilities were great so we ended up feeling at home! It was also great that we could leave the bags after check out and collect them later in the day. The shared bedrooms were a little small for the amount of people sleeping in there.

The location near the metro and right on Tram 28's route was fantastic. It's also bang opposite a little convenience store and there are many eateries in the vicinity. Very safe. The dorms had privacy curtains for the beds, huge windows and were air conditioned. Very cheerful and comfortable! The communal toilets and bathrooms were adequate for the floor, always clean, and well lit. The fully equipped kitchen and dining area was a delight-eating meals there with the stunning views outside the windows was a treat. The reception staff were very helpful, including with helping navigate the city for first timers, and the lounge area on the ground floor has a lovely desk by a window that is a joy to read and write from.

Rooms and bathrooms are very clean, curtains on beds for privacy. Cute balcony to get some fresh air from the room. 3 min walk to the train station, which makes it super convenient; laundromat and supermarket right in front of the hostel. 10 mins walk to the main attractions downtown. 24hrs reception, all of them super nice. Not that I didn't like it, but not a social hostel if you are looking to meet people; this might not be the place. There are some common places, but not used for socializing, which is one of the purpose of staying on a hostel. Maybe a bit more space in the showers to get dressed, but that is just a personal preference; if showers are used and dressing rooms too, it can be tricky to get dressed there.
