Named after the 19th-century market which was home to Britain’s first fish and chip shop, The Tommyfield Hotel is in the heart of Kennington and just a 10-minute Tube (subway) ride from central London. Southbank and the Thames River are only 15 minutes away by foot. Each individually designed room at Tommyfield features free Wi-Fi, a HD TV and a Nespresso coffee machine. A mini fridge, black-out curtains and Egyptian cotton linens are also provided. Cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the on-site restaurant, and ingredients are locally sourced whenever possible. A wide range of beers, cocktails and wines can be enjoyed at the bar. Guests can enjoy live entertainment in the form of stand-up comedy, as well as a pub quiz every Tuesday. The Houses of Parliament, Westminster Cathedral and Big Ben are all just 1.6 miles from the hotel.

There was nowhere for two people to sit. There is one chair next to a tiny table sitting against the TV. The bathroom had no heat, it was insanely freezing.

I like that it was relatively walk to the train station. I love the restaurant. It was clean and convenient I did not like the stairs. We had some heavy luggage and one of our bedrooms was in the third level. There was many doors which it felt weird

The staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable. The stairs were challenging.

Location was perfect. Food in pub was fantastic and a significant discount was given when staying upstairs. Lots and lots of stairs. We are an older couple and the steep stairs to our room were daunting.

Stylish and fun. Great staff who are helpful and accommodating. Milk and water provided in fridge. Green light in room all night that disturbs sleep. Could have done with more teabags as only one of each variety.

Modern, clean, comfortable. There was a green security light above the door on all night. Luckily I had an eye mask with me.

Very friendly and superb guest house. Pub facilities downstairs. Literally just what and where I needed it. 5 minute walk to the Oval. Good size room with superb bathroom.

Lovely room. Comfy bed. Good bathroom with roll top bath and rain shower. Good value for money, especially in London. Excellent food in the pub and very friendly helpful staff. On busy road junction so a bit noisy (obviously not their fault and not much they can do about it). Lots of stairs to the room. Very loud air con unit!
