Golden Star Hotel

Nothing! The place was awful, nothing like the photos! It was dirty, no one welcomes you and you have to go to another address for the key, they told us to wait 3 more hours to clean and then when we came it was dirty and smelled bad. The woman who was supposed to give us the key didn't even remember about our reservation! Such a bad place, don't go there!

A SCAM. CRIMINALS AND CROOKS. WHEN I SHOWED UP THEY TOLD ME THAT I HAD TO CHECK IN ACROSS THE ROAD. I PROCEEDED AND RANG ON THE BELL. AN ELDERLY PERSON ANSWERED AND SAID THAT I COULDNT STAY AT THE HOTEL THERE WAS NO WATER. THEN HERE DAUGHTER CAME OUT AND YELLED AT ME AND SLAMMED THE DOOR. THEN I RANG AGAIN AND A 30ISH MAN CAME OUT AND WAS VERY COMFRONTATIONAL WITH ME AND TOLD ME THAT I COULDNT STAY IN THE HOTEL AND THAT IT WAS TOO BAD AND IT WASNT HIS FAULT BUT SOME INTERMEDIARY COMPANY. HE WAS RUDE AND AGRESSIVE AND ACTED LIKE A FRAUDSTER. IT TURNED OUT I HAD NO ACCOMODATION. REASON I BELEIVE IS THAT IT WAS SATURDAY NITE AND THEY COULD SELL THE ROOM FOR A LOT MORE. I WAS CHARGED BY BOOKING WITH NO CHANCE OF A REFUND. SO A COMPLETE CRIMINAL FRAUD! IF THEY GAVE ME EITHER A FULL REFUND OR A PARTIAL REFUND INSTEAD OF CHEATING ME OUT OF MY MONEY. THERE WAS ANOTHER GAL FROM CZECH WHO WAS THERE AT THE SAME TIME AND SHE HAD THE SAME SITUAITON. SHE VIDEOED IT AND WENT TO THE LONDON FRAUDS OFFICE AND FILED AN OFFICIAL COMPLAINT. BECAUSE SHE HAD PROOF OF A VIDEO OF THE 30ISH GUY BEING RUDE AND THREATENING HERE AND THE FRAUD COMPLAINT, BOOKING REFUNDED HER BUT NOT ME

Location and price Check in on booking.com said 3 pm, could not get into my room till after 4 pm, they cleaned room as I waited in the doorway to the room, no hot water in shower/sink, room temp at best.

Safe and quiet neighborhood. Room seemed clean. Good hot water. Internet works fine. No toilet paper. Room was shabby...some lights worked others didn't. Hotel is unattended. Note on door says, in effect, "Go across the street and knock on such and such door." A woman came to the door and informed us the room has no hot water, didn't you get an email? No. Mercifully, she came up with a work around...we ended up staying in the basement of her building. The whole thing was pretty ridiculous. As a longtime traveler, I would steer you elsewhere. R. Food was in a central location, friendly and helpful staff.

The owners were friendly and helpful. They had sky and wifi and hot water. The room they put ujs in in their basement was clean enough. The hotel wasn't open. we got there to a note on the door sending us to a house round the corner. There, we were told either they could cancel the reservation or we could take a room in their basement. There was a bathroom and hot water so we took the room; we had already spent a fair bit of money getting to London and couldn't afford to find somewhere else or go home. It was down very rickety steps and felt a bit weird as it was their house. Every day at least 1 person would come to the door and try and get into the hotel and be told it was closed.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS THIS HOTEL IS A SCAM!!! Upon arrival the owner told us that he won’t give us the room. It was Saturday night we had nowhere else to go. Funny enough there was another separate guest arriving just before us with the same issue - refused a room even though we all paid!! The owner is a vile rude person who screamed at us to “f*** off” and that we are loosers !! Luckily I have managed to record him and his nasty behaviour. He refused to help us just said that it’s not his fault but bookings.com fault. He call me out for my looks and said I am just a little blond girl. Absolutely vile behaviour they are nothing but scammers and my money is nowhere to be seen! The other guest also didn’t get his money back !!!

The Hotel was very bad. Water heater not working. Toilet was stinking. Room was stinking. No reception, They didn't want us check in by telling me that hotel was full booked and they informed Booking.com. Booking.com helpline was not responding. It was paid booking. They wasn't ready to refund. There was nothing for normal human. Booking.com has added this crap on there hotel list why it is not clear.

We couldn’t stay at the property. We were met with a sign on the door saying that it was full and to go to a nearby address. At this address we were met by an elderly gentleman who told us that there was nothing he could do and he claimed he had tried to refund all of his bookings through booking.com. I then had to spend an EXTRA £145 at a nearby hotel. Overall I’m really disappointed that booking.com has this listed as after reading other reviews I can tell that this isn’t the first time it’s happened.

Nothing Got to an empty building went to where the sign said, no reply. Rang the number replied “give me 5 mins” 20 mins later I rang back to to go to another hotel just down the road which was a relief. See pictures.
