Dutch Hotel Long Island City New York , Belvilla District 6 Formerly Sonder

Along with whatever fee you are charged through Expedia, there is an additional 35 dollar fee to just get in the door of the building. The “lobby” floor was wet with dirty towels lying around. There was no staff present to assist you in getting to your room. Once I retrieved the code for my room I took the elevator to my floor only to find the door to my room ajar. Both the hallway and my room reeked of weed, not as if someone had just lit up, but in a way that had permeated the space permanently. The room had zero amenities. No soap to wash your hands aside from wall mounted body wash in the shower. There was one folded towel on the bed and this towel had definitely seen better days. The walls were paper thin so the sounds of others coming and going consistently interrupted my sleep. It’s safe to say the experience here was more in line with a Hostel. Emphasis on the “FORMALLY a Sonder”… do not stay here.

The room was great. Elevator a little slow but everything was great. Love that everything is contactless. There was a staff member in the lobby if you needed. I asked for extra towel snd he was kind enough to get them.

Also, during my stay, there were several days when there was no hot water for the shower, which was very inconvenient. Expedia handled the situation very well and was very helpful. However, the hotel told me they would contact me, but I never heard from them.

Scam. They charge $35 a day additional fee so what you pay online is not all of it. Be careful

The new self-check in is ok and is nice to still have someone there while refining the process, the issue was with cleaning service, they never cleaned during our stay (Tuesday-Friday).

Better plan for when access codes don’t work.

There is no staff and reaching the hotel at the number provided was useless. I paid for a balcony room and was told that there wasn’t any and given a regular room. There were no towels provided and had to wait 2 hours for them. The code given to get in the room did not work and had to call the customer service number and they also had trouble and had to reset it. The room was extremely small and dirty and the be charged an additional $35 per day for the room to look the way it did was ridiculous. I would never recommend this hotel!

Very poor

Affordable clean warm water no bugs safe Jesus Christ is Lord It was a little far from where we initially decided to hang in nyc, but that’s not the properties fault. One thing I did NOT like was that I couldn’t just check in at the desk like a normal hotel. That was a bit stressful.

Just the room was decent and comfortable. They have a big issue with locks and codes, mine didn’t work 5 times. They are terrible. Elevator is extremely slow.

No se confíe en el precio que le aparece en la página son unos estafadores ya que una vez tú pagas la reserva y en lo que llegas al Hotel a registrarte te cobran adicional $50 y no hay manera de que no lo pagues. Tienes que pagarlo sí o sí. Es obligatorio pagarlo

Ridiculous, terrible very bad experiences!...

There was basically zero service. No one to come to clean the room, empty the trash cans, or make the beds. When we arrived, each bed had only one pillow, there was a microwave but no cups to cook any water in it. There was only half a roll of toilet paper in the bathroom witn no reserves, and the fridge hat used items from the last guest in it. I don't mind a self-check-in hotel with no reception, but I DO mind if a room is advertised like a hotel, but servicd like an AirBnB (i.e. no service at all). Do not book this hotel. The room and bath was actually very nice, modern and clean, and the walking distance to the subways is a plus. This COUDL be a nice hotel if there was just some minimal level of daily room service. A shame its management cuts corners and runs it so poorly.
