Staff nice and friendly. Rooftop is pretty and everyone there nice and good service. Rooms were fine. Didn’t realize they have shower stall only so difficult with a young child that usually only takes baths but I didn’t notice in the pictures.

Perfect for what I needed

For the value and location, it worked very well for us. The property is a bit dated, but everything worked just fine, easy access to Manhattan at a fraction of the cost to stay in Manhattan.

We enjoyed our stay, rooms had a good view and were clean.

We had a great stay at Vista LIC which is perfectly located to explore NYC. We were really pleased to stay in these surroundings rather than Manhattan. It was easy to reach everything with various subway stations within walking distance. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby.

The hotel was clean and situated in a very nice quiet area that was still convenient to Manhattan. My only negative is that the bed in my room was broken. It was sagging severely on one side. I would recommend the restaurants and coffee shop in the hotel right across the street over the one in this hotel.

Comfortable bed with nice table on one side. Good lighting. Good products in bathroom and shower. The rooftop dining room was delightful with good food from the downstairs kitchen that took a while but was quite tasty. Breakfast is quite good but expensive. Kitchen staff are very pleasant and reasonably efficient. The subway is only 3 of the long city blocks away. We had no view from our room but it was marvelously quiet. We had to ask for one of the 7 refrigerators that they have for the entire hotel. The staff at the front desk seemed very defensive about a mistake they made on my bill, and were only marginally helpful with getting the towels that we wanted refreshed. We were infrequently greeted or even acknowledged when we returned to the hotel. The rowing machine has been broken since we were there a year ago - why do they keep it? Ice machines are on every other floor. WiFi has no password so is open to problems, but it was reasonably fast. We had to use either a chair or small oval tray-table for the side-table on one side of the bed. There were 5 hangers in the closet for 2 people, and none at the front desk. Hallway carpets on the 3rd floor at least, had quite a few stains.

I am old enough to be their parent, and the level of disrespect I received was unacceptable. Customer service should be courteous and respectful, especially when a guest is simply trying to understand a situation. Because of this experience, I will not be staying at this hotel again and cannot recommend it to others.

The room was clean and the view was the best part. We got one of the balcony rooms. The door handle on the balcony door was loose and a light bulb burnt out in one of the lamps by the bed. All of the lights are very bright bulbs so you can’t really have a relaxing atmosphere with the lights on. They charged me $65 for two washcloths and one towel my teenage daughter allegedly stained with her makeup and I never received the callback that I requested from the manager.

Location: The subway is nearby but otherwise there are no restaurants or fast food around. If you are using this just as a place to sleep, it's fine, but no food scene in the area. Amenities: The room didn't have a fridge (or microwave), which was a big drawback for us. Coming in from a hot day outside and bringing food, there was nowhere to store it. There is a restaurant with a limited menu in the hotel. There is also a lounge bar, which was loud and booked every night for various private parties. It got particularly loud on a Saturday, but all noise ended promptly at midnight, which I appreciated. Hotel parking is self-serve, but very hard to navigate. If you have anything larger than a small sedan, I'd recommend looking elsewhere for parking. Staff: The staff was definitely the highlight! Super friendly and efficient. Fast response to all needs and requests. Receptionists always answered the phone instantly! Overall, for a NYC hotel, this was a very good experience and I'd recommend it, especially if you plan to explore the city or to catch concerts/games at Flushing Meadows.

There was one staff member who was extremely accommodating; she even helped provide a fridge. The elevators were slow and always had an awful stench. The majority of the front desk staff I interacted with were not helpful. When I ran out of toilet paper, I was told they could not give me any and was offered napkins. I had to go to a store to buy some. When I inquired about a late check-out, the front desk attendant told me to ask the front desk attendant, as if that was not exactly what I was doing. I was given a complimentary breakfast, and while it was free, the food was not great.
