Great historic property with wonderful staff and decent rooms

The Biltmore is a lovely throwback to the Golden Age of Hollywood. It is still a beautiful hotel. The shower water pressure was amazing for such an aged gem. Everyone should definitely stay here at least once!
-
Also, there was no drinking water offered unless you spent )$10 on bottled water. That was very inconvenient as well 😞

The staff were very friendly and always willing to g to be helpful. Front desk and maids service around, available and attentive. Parking and limousine service convenient. Whole Foods, fine dining, library, museums, university campuses and Hill Street near by. Centrally located to the city. Ten minutes from Union station. Historical aspects of the hotel were amazing!! Recommend adding some glass box displays of fanciful gowns from the academy awards era in the great hall just outside the meeting rooms on mannequins.

Gorgeous architecture, spacious and clean room, staff was exceptional. Definitely recommend.

Nice old elegance. Staff very professional and nice. I liked the old Hollywood feel to the place. Close to all downtown areas and good security. The bed was extremely hard which is why I am not rating this place as high-

Overall excellent experience

The issue I have is that I booked and paid in full though EXPEDIA.... The room I booked on EXPEDIA was with CITY VIEWS... They put me in a room with view of the ALLEY VIEWS... They said, I needed to request CITY VIEW Room... Wow... That's the room I booked online from the room selection... Received confirmation from the hotel with photo of the room I selected... No where does it state request CITY VIEW ROOM... BAIT & SWITCH!!! FALSE ADVERTISING!!!

Lovely hotel with lots of history. Will be back!

The manager didn't communicate and pick up the phone forom the call of our third-party request. It was very time-consuming to connect the third-party to the manager.

Very old & dirty rooms need updating
-
It's a historic buidling. Very beautiful. Very close to the subway stations, but unfortunately DTLA is very dead. The rooms are clean but old. Staff are very helpful. The bar is OK. I enjoyed my stay.

All round excellent. A class act of a hotel.
-
I upgraded my room to a club room that "has the best city views and had clubroom lounge access". My room view was a brick wall. My keys did not have access to the club room the first day completely because the front desk did not have me as upgraded. Was not told about the $15 a day credit to use at the restaurant/ bar, until the last day. Those few things were just highly disappointed enough to choose another place to experience next trip.

Nice hotel.
-
In addition, it doesnt list specifically that there is no room service yet their phones have a tab for room service. It was clearly misleading

The public areas are reminiscent of an Italian Art Museum, but it is an older building and the rooms while renovated are not as comfortable as a modern hotel. The gushing shower was a plus, the noisy air conditioner a minus. The buffet breakfast was very good, better than most, but the meal from the cafe was disappointing even if it did come out less than 5 minutes after we ordered it.

Upon checking-in, I was told that the hotel charged a $39 destination fee that was not included in the "final" price quoted on Orbitz. I was informed $15 could be applied to charges at the bar or breakfast, and then also very graciously offered two small bottles of water without charge. The next surprise was when I went to the bar and ordered a basic drink which cost $25 price and also had a 20% service charge tacked-on. The hotel is historic and indeed very elegant, but I prefer destinations without hidden costs.

The property was clean and a great value. The lobby and bar area is beautiful. The rooms are large as well. If I had any complaints it would be a lack of good dining options.
