Villa Chitdara Hotel

The staff was amazing here. I had a special request and they exceeded my expectations. Everyone was so friendly. The location was perfect, its near everything but also set back so that its quiet. Good breakfast buffet and the grounds were upkept. The room were clean. The bottled waters were an added bonus. I highly recommend.

Located one block away from the main street in the tourist area of Luang Prabang and one block the other direction from the river, this hotel was quiet, clean and felt luxurious. The beautiful garden / courtyard outside our window made waking up every morning feel like a dream. The staff was extremely kind and helpful, the breakfast buffet was a highlight, and the rooms felt both classic and updated to suit our needs. 10/10 would recommend staying here.

The location was perfect—right in the heart of Luang Prabang. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, with a nice local touch. Breakfast was simple but delicious, and the garden view made mornings very relaxing. Nothing major, but the Wi-Fi signal was a bit weak in the room sometimes .

Very friendly and helpful staff. Near nightmarket and Mekong riverside restaurants & food stalls. Monks walk by for their daily alms and you can buy food and serve them right in front of the hotel. Breakfast was simple. It would be nicer to have one vegetable dish.

Loved the breakfast, the garden was really pretty and staff were nice. I believe that if you aren't as unlucky as we were with the room assigned it could possibly be an overall really nice stay as it is in an excellent location. 1 of 3 rooms we had was in tge back building and my in-laws were happy with it. Staff were also generally quite friendly. Our rooms were right next to the reception and facing the street / bicycle rental and waiting area of the hotel. Definitely did not match the pictures of the beautiful garden view! That also meant no natural light unless you want people looking into your room. Also it was quite noisy, at times there was a smoke smell coming into the room. All extremely inconvenient with a 11 month old baby trying to sleep (which the hotel knew of in advance). We asked if we could switch to the other side of the hallway and were told we have to pay the full room fee of that room extra. So we declined.

The emplacement is great near the old city centre. The room was clean. The gardent looks good. We had asked for a room with a garden view and we were on the road ground floor nextvto the entry. So no privacy if we wanted to open the wndow. And we could hear all the noise if people in the street and people arriving at the hotel. We asked for another room. But impossible although it seemed that all the rooms were not occupied.

Very nice property. Stayed over Christmas and was the perfect spot for it. Super close to the Main Street , breakfast was nice but simple. Staff were friendly. Comfy beds. Hot ish shower.

Beautiful villa set in a peaceful garden and in the nicest part of town Room exquisite and beautifully decorated. Sumptuous breakfast. Excellent location, near night market but without the noise. Monks come right past the villa each morning for their alms. Loved my stay and was upset when we had to leave. If wanting to hire a scooter rather do it directly through the scooter company themselves, so you can choose exactly what you want. Unfortunately, we were at the mercy of whatever was delivered to the villa (in our case, broken seat, broken helmet).

My stay at Villa Chitdara was outstanding. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and the balcony with a view of the garden was a bonus. Breakfast was outstanding- numerous options, including a cooked breakfast, fresh fruit and good coffee. The location was perfect; within walking distance to the sights and eateries, yet on a quiet street. I will stay here next time I am in Luang Prabang. Highly recommend.

The hotel is a beautiful traditional wooden house with a lovely garden where you can have breakfast. The room was big and cozy with a nice balcony. It was very quiet at night and everything was within walking distance. If you're interested in observing the morning alm ceremony, it's easy to reach from the hotel. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly, the breakfast was also very nice.

Everything was great except there was no hot water in the morning for a Shower. This appeared to be due to the heavy rain. It is probably not normal and the staff did try to fix it.

Perfect location, a block away from the river and the night market. Easy walking to most places such as temples, Phousi Hill, etc. Staff were all friendly and helpful and happy to give tips on the best way to get to points of interest. The complementary breakfast was nice with limited vegan options including noodles, salad and fruit. Soy milk for cereal would be a good addition. Either way, we were very appreciative of a free breakfast. The beautifully manicured gardens were lovely to look at from the restaurant and our balcony.

Beautifully maintained garden which creates a peaceful oasis to relax in. Great balcony. Perfectly located near the night market and both rivers. Friendly helpful staff. Our room was cleaned as soon as we left each morning to explore. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Laos. Twin beds are too hard and narrow. Could be more variety at breakfast.

Really great place to stay in LP. It's set on a hill, and there's a large, open space of grass and garden with tables you can sit at and chill. The rooms were really large by LP standards (this was my 4th time in LP) and were nice and bright, but also had a traditional feel in the villa as a whole. The staff are nice (which isn't unusual, since everyone you meet in Laos is super nice and charming :). Breakfast was pretty basic, but they do eggs to-order, which was nice. Coffee was good, too. In terms of location, it's a quiet street, and if you turn left at the top of the road, you go up to the start of the market-street area where all the restaurants are, and if you go right, you hit the river. So the location is excellent.
