Lovingly decorated, extremely comfortable in an outstanding location. Cannot say enough about how kind and helpful the staff were, and breakfast was excellent. Highly recommend.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Baan Pila. It feels less like a hotel and more like the very best kind of boutique B&B—warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed in every way. Even before we arrived, Phout was incredibly gracious, helping arrange a driver for the day. Kham was excellent—punctual, professional, and driving a very comfortable vehicle. Alin made check-in effortless after a long journey—welcoming us with tea and snacks, giving a thorough orientation, and proactively organizing breakfast boxes and early morning lattes for our departure. The level of care was genuinely impressive. The property itself is beautifully designed. A charming front sitting room leads into a spacious, cool, impeccably furnished bedroom. The bathroom was equally impressive—not just spotless, but incredibly well thought out, with locally made bug spray, beautifully scented lotions, and even a battery-operated candle for nighttime use without harsh lighting. Every detail felt intentional. It’s clear the owners truly understand what makes a stay comfortable. Breakfast deserves special mention. The takeaway breakfast boxes were perfect for our early start to Kuang Si Falls, but the in-house breakfast the following day was outstanding. Fresh local bread with house-made tamarind jam, generous entrée options like a large omelet and Lao chicken pho, excellent coffee (including a great soy latte), and a beautiful fruit plate we couldn’t resist ordering after seeing another table’s. There’s also a lovely front sitting area and bar, and while we didn’t have time to use the pool, it looked inviting. Phout also provided great recommendations for lunch and a massage, which were spot on. Bottom line: I wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else in Luang Prabang. The care, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality here are exceptional—it’s easy to see why this property is so highly rated.

A lovely small property just far enough away from the old town to be peaceful. Thoughtful touches everywhere. Delicious fresh breakfast served at the table.

The room I stayed in had unique character and the styling is tasteful, very comfortable too. The staff are attentive, genuine and friendly, they helped me find my way around, organised some things. The breakfast was delicious, I had an omelette, nice coffee and fruit salad. I’ll be going back, for sure. Nothing really, not that I can think of

The location was quiet and tucked away. The design is beautiful bright and cheerful. Beautiful gardens too. Rooms are massive and inspiring. The manager is one of the best i have ever encountered and her staff reflect her goodness. Nothing.

Stylish room and hotel with amazing breakfast, friendly and accommodating staff, convenient location, and great local recommendations including restaurants, activities, etc. Shower was a bit slow to drain. Otherwise, everything was excellent!

Phout, the manager was an absolute delight. She helped us make our stay comfortable and was a great source of things to do in the area. She ven took us out to a traditional Lao BBQ dinner which was a great experience. The property itself is full of wonderful, cultural Lao touches and to each room. Very comfortable stay and slept like a baby. Nothing

Exceptional

Baan Pila is a wonderful small hotel within walking distance to central Luang Prabang as well as the UXO visitor center. The spacious rooms are stylish with all the amenities I would want, such as a hot water kettle, refrigerator, bath robes, slippers, and so on. A small pool in the back yard lets you cool off after a busy day outdoors. Only adults were at the hotel during our stay, no children. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Each evening, someone greeted us and gave us a breakfast menu so we could check off what we'd like to eat in the morning and approximately what time. Our food arrived freshly made when we got to the breakfast room the next morning: coffee, freshly squeezed juice, fruit, toast, and a main course. The staff also helped us book a driver for a half day excursion and let us pay for it on our hotel bill by credit card rather than having to pay a driver cash, which was preferred for us. Baan Pila is a wonderful hotel and I can't wait to stay there again.

This amazing boutique guest house in the heart of Luang Prabang was such a beautiful find . With only 6 rooms you certainly feel like you’re home . Extremely helpful staff and fantastic breakfast , quality organic bath products , there is nothing to fault at all ! Nothing at all !
