This was our first time staying in the downtown Lynchburg area. We were traveling for a wedding and ended up booking here last minute after first booking a cheaper hotel on the other end of town. We left that accommodation due to hygiene issues and broken appliances, so arriving late at night to this hotel was such a pleasant surprise. Staff was so friendly and accommodating and we loved that we still had an option to grab something to eat without having to order in or travel back out. The room was clean and comfortable, all of the appliances we used worked as expected, and we felt really spoiled by this experience as people who do not tend to travel frequently. We were also upgraded for free to a suite because there were no rooms in the type that we originally booked for both nights, so it was very nice that it was automatically considered a necessity to be in the same room for both nights. The food after 10pm was, to our surprise, very good. They let us order to-go and we felt the amount of food and quality was really good considering the price and how late it was. Our servers during breakfast were very sweet and considerate of us. They looked as though they had a very strong team working together. Breakfast was also good and fresh when we received it. Our breakfast at the skyline cafe was a lengthier experience than we would’ve preferred due to back-ups in the kitchen. Our servers stayed busy and moving, but ticket times were very long. They were nice enough to voluntarily compensate one of our meals for the delay. It felt as if there may have not been enough staff either in the kitchen or on the floor to provide service for guests. We arrived around 9:45AM and did not end up receiving food until about 10:30AM. We saw other guests who were sat further from the kitchen waiting much longer to get an order in, receive food, and pay. Breakfast portions felt a lot smaller than some of the food we had the night before also. The bathroom sink overflow drain, as well as the inner rim of the sink, were quite gross. That was probably one of the only truly “dirty” thing we saw while there; however it was unfortunately very noticeable from both the reflection in the mirror and when looking down while brushing teeth/washing face. Our bed was also quite worn out/old but we have definitely slept on worse. We only mention it because at first we thought something beneath the frame may have collapsed and made the mattress sink deeper, but then we realized the mattress just had these permanent human-sized valleys with a firm spot in the middle from age and wear. We also wish the tv had more streaming app options, but we overall enjoyed the interface of this tv compared to other hotels.

We loved the spacious room and the rooftop restaurant.

Room was clean. AC wouldn't go below 68, which when it's over 100 degrees outside is a bummer, but it held it's temp okay. The toilet was LOUD after the flush for a solid 2 or 3 minutes. Food was good, staff was pleasant, valet attendees were top notch.
