The hotel is in a historic building from the early 20th Century. The original façade has been preserved and the interior completely refurbished. The hotel was once used by matadors before bullfights. Madridsol provides easy access to the Plaza Mayor, Gran Vía and the Royal Palace. The Prado Museum and Cibeles are within walking distance of the property. Sol Metro Station is just 160 yards away and is just 3 stops from Atocha Train Station. There are 3 public parking lots nearby. All bright rooms have air conditioning, a safe and flat-screen TV. the room was ok but one of the mattresses was very uncomfortable, sunk big in the middle. The bathtub/shower was hard to get in and out of and nothing to hang on to, to help you. Breakfast was great and staff very friendly.

I like the friendly staff, the rooms have balconies, and the AC can be set to cooler or moderate. for the bathing area, the water often gushes out and stagnates, there is no way for the water to escape.

We loved the location! The front desk staff was attentive and shared helpful info! Safety measures in place. Cleanliness could be better overall. Room was very small (we knew this but the location can’t be beat).

The location but still the surroundings are not nice and trashy. Don’t stay here. Everything and everyone. The rooms are so dirty. I had trash from previous guests (so disgusting) and black hair from previous guests in the shower, on fresh towels, in bed. The big disadvantage is that you can hear everything from neighbouring rooms. If you a in a bathroom, you can hear the speeches and almost participate when talking as they will hear you too. The staff at breakfast are not nice. Always give orders when you can come in and where you can seat. The breakfast is soso. The quality of food is poor. The eggs (boiled only available) tasted so artificial. Jamon is also not the best. Coffee tastes not so good.

There is a really bad smell inside the elevator and the hall way, we covered our nose because it was really disgusting. Also, there was hot inside the room but the A/C does not work because "it is not summer". We did not have this problem in other hotels. They borrowed us a fan.

The walls are very thin at this property we could hear the people in all the rooms on our floor and above us. The hotel is also located on a busy nightlife street so there is noise outside as well.
