Poor female/make separation. So unclean that I had to take allergy pills in order to sleep.

The staff was accommodating and friendly and supportive. The location is excellent and was well maintained.

First I was a bit shocked when I saw there were no separate rooms but it is just one big room with all the beds and the sections were just split by a paravan. This was also a bit troublesome at night as you here everyone moving snorring breathing getting in and out of the hostel or bathroom and as I was close to the entrance of the big room I could often here people talking in the common areas throughout day and night. Also in my section there was apart with the light that is activated by movement which was a bit irritating at night. Also not having a place to cook food for me is a downer but not having real cutlery and real plates was a mega downer. The price was a bit higher then the rest of the hostels nearby

The only thing good about this hostel is the location and the mattress was confortable For starters, they advertise and sell on the booking page seperate rooms, one of them being a female dorm (which is what I've booked). But when I arrived the "female dorm" was simply a section of the whole room (it is actually just one gigantic room with bunk beds) seperated by a bamboo screen. I find this quite dishonest and I'm not even sure of the legality of it. There is a reason female only dorms exist, but not just that, they are selling as if they have seperate rooms and they don't (which is a very different thing). There is nothing in the photos that suggests and demonstrates that this is the case. They claim the bamboo separation and the fact that someone is there 24/7 guarantees safety and privacy but the truth is anyone can get in. And by anyone can get in I mean anyone because actually the person that is on the reception desk doesn't check people when they enter. There's supposed to be a code for the entrance door but it was awalys open. So basically anyone can get in during the day and no one is checked. The kitchen is almost unexistent. The point of a hostel is that you can cook your stuff to save money but there is one small fridge and one microwave... When I arrived at night the recpetion/kitchen/living smelled horribly of tobaco. I found out that it was the man at recepetion (apparently the owner's uncle) that just smokes and brings the cigarette inside (I saw him do this another night). They don't give you duvets even though it was winter (December). When I asked for one, the owner (I guessed) eventually got me one even though he hesitated and gave an excuse that they didn't have duvet covers, when in fact the sheets we were provided were actually the duvet cover. He said he tried to leave the heating confortable for everyone but how can you do this with so many different people...it's just easier to give duvets. He was nice overall but clearly doesn't know much of what he is doing... In the booking description it is also mentioned that there are private wc for the rooms but again, a lie...the wc is basically one room where the female section is on one side and the male on the other...but everyone has to enter the same room. Also the whole dorm doesn't have any windows and it gets stuffy inside (and this time the hostel was not very full. I can't imagine when it is and in summer). The bed curtains are not opaque enough so they do let a lot of ligh through. I could keep going with so many other details but these are the most outstanding.

Good internet Everything, the dirtiest place I’ve ever stayed in my life, with blasting lights in the dorm rooms even at night, the whole place is one dirty dorm with small room separators, and it stinks like a locker room, bathroom looks like it is never cleaned, the whole place felt like tip toeing around a health hazard and the front desk person was chain smoking so pretty much no place to feel comfortable at all. 1/10

The chargers were just for the USB, so it was hard to actually charge my phone itself on the bed.

The people who work here are lovely (its a family business, they are all very kind and helpful), the location is great (10 minute walk to the metro), beds are comfy (especially for a hostel). For what you pay for, this is a lovely place to stay. Have stayed twice and will return next time I am in Madrid. The only negative thing I can think of is that the showers aren't too hot (however, I do love scalding showers, so for most people this is probably fine, especially if staying in the hotter months of the year).

It's too dark. No windows that provide natural lights. The lights flicker on and off if you don't move. If you're fixing your bag/luggage, it won't sense that you're moving so the lights automatically turns off.

The hosts were very friendly Was too hot to sleep

Location was accesible to my school Need cleaner facilities

A locker under the bed. Nice staff tried to arrange a nice bed for me. They keep it dark and quiet in the big dorm room for those who don't want to get up earlier. The neighbor looks safe and quiet. The cleanness of the shared bathroom needs to be improved. It seems that some people would like to sleep on a bed without paying. The management came into the dormitory in the middle of the night and woke someone up loudly to ask him to pay first. Why can't they confirm before entering?

Great staff, very friendly...very clean facilities and comfortable beds. Nice common area with books, a telly and plenty power points. Good location, far from traffic, close to the metro. Kitchen resources are a bit limited and there's no dorms per se, it's one big area divided into zones. I recommend carrying a torch because the automatic lights only stay on very few seconds (which is great if you're the person trying to sleep tho!!)

This hostel was nice. I stayed in the one bed 2 people. The bed was comfortable but when you close the curtain it can get hot in there. Under the bed there was a drawer to leave your stuff but bring your own lock. The host are really nice is a family business. The check in is super easy. The showers are semi-private so you will have a private stall with a shower and toilet/sink but it is in a big room so you can still hear others in the shower. The bathroom is split between male to the right and female to the left (3 stalls each) so although it is private and separated by gender it is an open room for both genders in the same space. The lobby is quite small so you may have to squeeze through people to have a seat. They have a coffee and snacks vending machine. They have a microwave and wooden utensils to use. They have a fridge so you can leave stuff and just write your name on it. They do have a few stuff if you would like to rent but suggest to bring your own like a padlock or a towel.

  • Engine customer Apr 2025

The staff were extremely friendly and the beds were very comfortable!

  • Engine customer Apr 2025

The property was small with privacy difficult to maintain. The showers and bathrooms were new and well maintained. There is only a kettle, microwave and refrigerator to use but there are vending machines. The location was great and easy to use public transport.

The location was close to Debod Temple and 30 min walk from Plaza de España. The bathrooms were clean. I didn’t like many things: there’s was nobody at the reception when I arrived, the bed wasn’t comfortable, there are no rooms and no doors, it’s like an open space with bunkbeds, all on the same floor (the ground floor). There’s no kitchen, just a microwaves and a fridge (full of staff because someone is actually living there I guess ). You need to pay 2€ to get a towel.
