The lodgings are located close to the centre of the city. The gentleman who checked me in was efficient and friendly. Despite a considerable amount of noise in the street, once all windows and shutters were closed, it didn't really prove a problem. Both shared bathrooms were available whenever I needed to use them. The room, on a fourth floor with a lift/elevator, offered a nice view from the balcony. The free wifi met my needs. The duvet and the cushion that was left on the bed had stains. The place is incredibly run down and could definitely do with a renovation. There was no soap in the bathrooms, but each of them did have a mop propped up against the sink, which was off-putting. When I called to make a query, the lady who answered must have thought I was someone else, as she answered in qute a rude manner, saying that I "just had to call whenever (she) was finishing doing something". I asked if I had called the right place, and she had proceeded as if nothing had happened.

Location 1. There were MANY hairs on our pillows. 2. Noise. You could hear snoring from the other rooms, a lot of noise in the morning (people talking loud in the hallway).

Location is close to center where all the attractions are 1. Rooms are VERY VERY VERY small (i also look to other rooms when they clean it) 2. Sounds from outside really loud, like they are talking in the room with you. We can hear conversation from our neighbor very clearly, word per word, maybe they can hear us too. One time I thought people talking in front of our doors, I open the door to tell them to be quite, it turn out they are in their hotel room next to us. Staffs also talking in the corridor VERY VERY LOUD, because the room dont reduce any noise at all. Worst experience about noise my whole history of travelling 3. The shower was broken, we cannot put it up so we have to hold it while showering. I asked the to fix it and they tape it with clear tape. It didnt really help 4. With so small room they still put unimportant furniture inside, too much rack, chair in the bathroom. Who need a chair in a bathroom?? 5. The reception dont speak english, AT ALL (she is owner?) 6. One time we come back while they are cleaning the room, they finish and left, smells of bleach were very strong and when i take off my pants it absord the bleach from the floor, and my pants color are washed out in several places, it became like stains. I cannot wear them anymore. How much bleach did they use to clean floors?

Right in the center. You could hear everything going on in the next room even talking and I guess they could hear us. Also even with the windows closed I could hear the loud noise of cars passing.

location This was NOT a smoke free property. Ash trays were in multiple rooms, including shared toilets. Clean hallway floors but our room not the best.

Nice hostel in the center of Madrid. The chamber was clean and even if it was a hostel the room has been cleaned every days. The people in the reception was very friendly and helpful. The room did not included toilets (as expected, since they are in common) but there was a shower and a lavabo which was enough. The ratio quality/cost can be improved especially considering that it is and hostel (without a full time reception) with a simple room with common toilet.
