NH Collection Marbella

I stayed for 6 nights, and the experience was shockingly unprofessional. My stay started with a serious security issue: they gave me a key to an occupied room, and I walked in to find a woman sleeping inside. When I later got the flu, housekeeping skipped my room and didn’t replenish the tissues. Reception made me come downstairs while sick just to hand me ONE tissue, and I had to argue for 10 minutes to get the whole box. Housekeeping also forgot the water, yet reception simply told me to pay for it. Their mistake, your bill. Standard rooms don’t have an iron. Upgrade and pay more, and apparently that’s the luxury you get. If you borrow one, housekeeping starts aggressively knocking after just 10 minutes to take it back. The beds are painfully uncomfortable. If you want to leave Marbella with a back problem, you’ll feel right at home. I asked for an adapter and was told to buy one from Carrefour. I also asked for a 1:30 PM checkout and was immediately told to pay extra. Overall, there is zero interest in guest comfort—no effort to accommodate, no apology, and no attempt to make things right. The answer to everything seems to be: pay. Your wallet is clearly the VIP guest here. The only exception was Anna from Guest Relations, who was professional and helpful. Marbella is beautiful. If you want to pay to be treated like an inconvenience, this is the place. Otherwise, save your money, your dignity, and your back—and stay literally anywhere else.

The pool area and breakfast were great. Our room initially smelled like fish. It was also very damp throughout our stay. Our check in was a massive hassle with the check in staff being exceptionally rude. We had rented 4 rooms from our group and they were upset that a room had 2 children (one under the age of 2 and felt the children should be separated and a second room booked for that group, but ultimately made an exception). The towel system was terrible as there was often no one to give towels to guests, but if you took a towel (because no one was there and you wanted to dry off for a moment) someone would find you and tell you off after.

Perfect not in the center of it but perfect location - to town in 5 minutes via loca bus

The location was a little far from the main beach promenade and from Old Town. We could walk it but sometimes needed to take a bus or a cab.

Perfect place to stay!staff was friendly. Everyday my room was cleaned. I suggest to everyone.

Location: Excellent - central location located conveniently for access to all major landmarks Staff: Excellent and friendly Room: Great room and facilities Other: Sweet/Snack table at reception was great :) Everything was great apart for staff member at checkout who when request was made for stored luggage was extremely rude. She displayed an arrogant attitude which was a unfortunate given that everyone else was super helpful and friendly.

Compared to other parts of Spain, I didn't find the staff to be friendly and approachable, having a superior attitude. In one of the nights, when we returned to the hotel we encountered a wild boar and when we told the staff about it and to call the police, they said it is normal and we had to insist to them to call the police, as wild boars can become really dangerous.

First, when I brought my laundry in a laundry bag to the reception, I was asked to take it back to my room. A few minutes later, I received a call from reception informing me that the laundry had in fact been received. This created some confusion and unnecessary back‑and‑forth. Second, at the pool, I was given two room cards to exchange for towels and was informed that losing a towel would result in a 35 EUR charge. However, I noticed that other guests were able to receive towels directly at the pool without any cards or warnings. The inconsistency in procedure felt unclear and somewhat uncomfortable.
