Late March proved to be an excellent time to discover Marseille! La Luna was a charming property, complete with a rejuvenating hot tub, fabulous views, and a welcoming hostess in Estelle! We received outstanding advice on the top attractions and experiences. Her English was very good, and we were grateful for her assistance with French. We stayed active by walking the steps to and from the property, a useful fact to bear in mind, even if it wasn't a surprise. Exploring and hiking the nearby Calanques and the La Grotte restaurante at the base of the trail was one of our favorites. I could go on but the best advice I can give is, just go!

The very original home is an absolute gem ! But the most precious "asset" of this property, is its manager Estelle ! There are many beautiful accommodations around the world , but the encounter with a warm, kind, helpful, charming and gracious human being is so rare ! THANK YOU Estelle. Driving on such narrow streets was quite challenging. I was expecting Marseille inhabitants to enlarge the streets for our arrival ! (joke)

We stayed for three nights at Villa La Luna in Marseille and everything was perfect! Estelle greeted us warmly, gave us plenty of helpful tips, and we immediately felt at home. The villa is beautiful, very well located, and comfortable. The breakfast was also excellent, with a variety of fresh and delicious products. We highly recommend this place and hope to return soon. A big thank you to Estelle for her warm hospitality!

Wonderful terrasse and garden; super friendly and easy-going host. Excellent location (I suppose particularly nice in Summer)

Estelle is a fantastic host, full of fantastic recommendations for how best to use your time in Marseille. The house is well located near the sea, in a quieter neighborhood within 20 minutes of the old port. Well worth a trip.

This guest house completely met our expectations and more. Estelle (the host) was really helpful & a lovely women. She spoke excellent English & was extremely helpful. The guest house itself was gorgeous, the breakfast was lovely & the views were breathtaking. I would highly recommend staying here & will definitely be back in the near future.

Nothing. Ah where to begin..without a doubt the worst place of of our 2 week tour. Style over comfort personified. Firstly the new fans (to replace air con) are useless. Our room temperature overnight reached 32 (see pic). You can't open the windows (double glazed to keep noise out but also keeps heat in) because of the mosquitos. There are oddly no nets. When we asked about this, we were told a/nets disturb airflow (nonsensical because so does a window) b/mosquitos were bad at this time (yes, that's why, like everywhere else we stayed, you need nets). She also asked if we kept the shutters closed in the day (we did). The shower is hilarious. It's a hand held thing that only stays up on the holder when it's on by virtue of water pressure. When you turn off the water it immediately falls off and, if you're not careful, bangs you on the head. The room ceiling has been lowered to squeeze in another room above which doesn't help the circulation..the toilet/ shower has no extractor. The outdoor area is very pretty but there is the constant presence (when we were there) of a pool robot and a lot of cables. If you have any hopes of swimming laps etc, forget them here. Finally and for us, worst of all, walking access is up a very steep hill with countless steps. I broke my ankle a few months ago and found it a huge challenge, so much so we ordered in rather than try to get out to a restaurant. This is not for anyone with any mobility issues!! And yet there is absolutely no mention of this on the Booking.com site. Had there been we would have cancelled and rebooked. We left after one night into a 3 night stay. Our first time ever to do that in 30 years of travel together. The only way I could eat on the first night at all was by getting a delivery. If we had stayed I would have had 3 days stuck in the hotel with takeaway food when the main point of our trip was exploring local restaurants. Marseille is beautiful, just don't stay here!

La LUNA is a beautiful property in a perfect location within walking distance to everything. It has the most amazing outlook to the ocean and an incredible infinity pool overlooking a spectacular view of Marseille coastline. The house carries such a unique charm! You don’t even have to leave the property as there are so many wonderful features making it special- spa, sauna, pool, sundeck, cave lounge room etc.. We were treated to a fabulous cooked breakfast each morning by Estelle served out on the back deck- tranquil & peaceful… The perfect place to relax!!

Estelle was great. She was so welcoming and took very good care of us on our stay

Perfect location, tucked away from the hustle and bustle. Beautiful views and pool area. Estelle is wonderful and will make you feel at home immediately. Loved everything but room does get warm. White bedding might help it feel cooler.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to La Luna. Estelle was an amazing host and Vincent has a beautiful house with stunning views and exceptional facilities for a Chambre d'Hote. A communal dining room and lounge as well as a jacuzzi, swimming pool and sunbeds. Easy access to walks or buses into Marseille and along the coast. Estelle speaks excellent English, but also helped us enormously with improving our reasonable French. Nothing. It was all perfect.

Great location with water front views and short walks to public transport.facilities where very nice with pool and a jacuzzi. The best part of this experience was dealing with Estelle, she helped plan our itinerary and made our time there very enjoyable. Would definitely recommend and come back. Nothing

I love the place and its folks. However, I was disappointed at booking.com for charging me an outrageous fee per night. I am asking booking.com for refund. I didn’t like Booking.com for charging outrageous price for my room comparing to other places in the vicinity.
