Amazing staff make you feel welcome immediately. The other travelers are welcoming and made us feel immediately at home.

Although everything was very clean, our bathroom had a decent amount of mold on the ceiling.

The breakfast was excellent and enjoy very much. The staff was very friendly and I enjoyed communicating with her at all times. The location was a bit far away from many places but it's quiet and safe. I will likely stay there again if I revisit Medellin. The bed doesn't have reading lights so is become quite dark if the lights are switch off.

Claudia is such a great host, very special human being who infuses her aura to the space. Guests were good-vibed and easy going, I felt almost like at home! :) Floresta as location is a wise choice (close to the metro station as well) Gastón's setup is great: very solid kitchen, 2 tables outside, 2 hammocks upstairs, good WIFI… Gates (and outdoor terrace) closed around 23h, having to disturb Claudia in order to go out / get back past that hour (which she says it's completely fine… but still doesn't feel great to wake up someone so you can enter / go out). Completely understandable for safety/practical purposes, but kind of limiting as a guest unless you like to sleep from 10 PM to 7 AM ;)

Great location in Medellín, super easy to get around and close to everything without being overwhelming. The space itself felt clean and well-designed, with a social but still comfortable vibe. Staff were friendly and helpful, and it was easy to meet other travelers. Overall, a solid balance between chill and social.

I had a lovely stay here at Gaston 2 whilst going to Spanish school in Belen for a week. This was my first stop in Colombia and Marileny made me feel so comfortable and like I could use the hostel as my home. Marileny was the highlight of my stay here! She was patient and kind and I enjoyed practicing my Spanish with her, and she also gave me lots of useful tips about safety etc in Medellin. The facilities are basic but clean (the pillow I have to say was not the most comfortable!) and I really enjoyed the daily breakfast often eaten with the staff and sometimes their friends. The area itself is quite residential (not in the fancy bit of Laureles), but I didn’t mind as I was quite busy with Spanish school. Met some nice people too, as the hostel is small we saw each other often which was nice. Perhaps if you are a solo traveller without the social structure of Spanish school you might want somewhere a bit more lively. Also it was extremely cheap!

I stayed in Gaston 2 and Marlen the owner is really friendly. The kitchen is big, clean and has everything you need. The beds are comfortable. Might not be the most social hostel at first sight but I met cool people there. The metro is nearby and the neighbourhood is really nice.
