Exceptional staff, location, a hotel with a unique atmosphere - almost too good because then one may just want to stay in the common space rather than visit the incredible Medellin!

Tips: stay at Medellin as long as you can , this city is the best in Colombia.

I stayed 3 nights at Refugio del Jaguar in Medellín and ended up extending my stay because I really felt good there. A special thanks to all the Samuels and José ? All the guys working there were always super helpful, attentive and genuinely caring to make sure I was comfortable and enjoying my time. The place has a very unique atmosphere, perfect if you want to feel surrounded by nature and jungle vibes while still being in Medellín. Definitely recommended. ?

The really beautiful hotel with so many small and larger items that reminds of the Jaguar and nature. Soo many plants inside. The peace and relaxing feeling you get inside even being in a big city with a lot of traffic. And restaurants, bars, coffee places close by. Transportation a lot different ways to see the city. I don't know

Very pleasant stay. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, and the room was clean and comfortable. Would stay again. Nothing

I really liked Jaguar. The location is fantastic, a few hundred meters off loud, main roads so the street in front is quiet, but steps away from restaurants, tiendas, and Parque de El Poblado. The restaurants and nightlife of that safe barrio are all within an easy stroll. The staff was fabulous. I struggled with my Spanish, but the staff spoke English when I needed it. They were also very responsive, helpful, and courteous (what more could you ask for?). The room was very large with a big, walk-in shower, extra pillows, a large bed, very clean, with sufficient lighting. The fridge in the breakfast area held plenty of potable water, milk (for coffee?), some juice (and some guests had left some wine there too ;-). Along with the fridge, they had great coffee and hot water (with teas) available all day. The public areas were quiet, spacious, and had some comfortable places to relax; like the three hammocks on the second floor above the coffee. They had tons of books available too. The place lived up to its name, because it definitely was a refuge from the 'craziness' of El Poblano. I think you could comfortably hang out there for some time, but with all the excitement Medellin offers, why would you? I'd categorize Jaguar as an ultra-high-end hostel. So, if you're expecting (looking for) a western-style, Marriottish experience, you won't find it here. There isn't air conditioning. The room had a fan. That said, the temperature was pleasant during my stay, so the fan was fine. The bed and sheets are clean, but the bed itself is a bit hard. I like a firm mattress, so it was good for me. The door didn't have a latching handle. It had a deadbolt lock with a fixed handle on the door to hold the door closed when you latch the lock; it swung open if it wasn't deadbolted. The room has a tile floor, with 'adobe-like' walls, and a wooden ceiling. They have just a couple of rugs, so acoustically. there's an echo. The room had no windows, so there wasn't any natural airflow (the fan did a good job of moving air though). The door has space under it and isn't 'tight', so sound does get past it (It might not be a good place for romance unless you like to share. ;-) They provide earplugs, and I wasn't bothered by any sounds all night.

The decor I got robbed at the corner at night
-
It can be a bit noisy during the night, as the building has really thin walls.
-
Amazing friendly staff and very nice design with cool facilities, an entire experience to stay here. The room did not have enough space to store all our clothes and it was a bit annoying that there is no separation between bathroom and bedroom and between bedroom and rest of the hotel.

Lovely place and people. We didn't find it too noisy at all and we were there on a weekend. Nothing.

It was such a peaceful space to land at the end of the day after dealing with the intense city of Medellin. I loved the quirky colourful common spaces (although as a solo traveller I had hoped that there was going to be more people hanging out there but most of the time the space was pretty empty). All in all a fantastic experience though! Only downfall is that there is no elevator, but that wasn't a huge deal.

Honestly, they really were phenomenal. Super safe and so friendly. Each day they greeted me like I was the only person staying there. Also they were so helpful in finding me tours and good places to explore. Juan Pablo and Daniel were always there smiling and being amazing. Thank you!!

Superb location within the El Poblado neighborhood. Staff is always ready to help you. Good breakfast and coffee is available 24hrs There’s no window and no tv in the room.
-
My only complaint is that the sound proofing in the rooms isn't great.

Fantastic location and amazing staff

The decor and feel. We felt like we were in the jungle. The staff were exceptional - always available with information and smiles Nothing really. However, the little street where the entrance is, is rather seedy. However, once inside there was peace and very safe.

Friendly staff and very convenient location !

There’s not enough things I could say about this place. It’s a work of art every single employee they have is amazing. They go away and beyond to help you to make sure you’re happy. Mateo is amazing but so are all the other boys. Nothing everything was perfect
