Great staff and good location Mistakes with booking so I was assigned a room that was being renovated. Had to move rooms, then the room I moved to had issues with flickering lights and a broken bath plug. These were resolved by the staff, but it was a hassle to continuously go up and down to fix these problems.

The strongest advantage is definitely the location. The hotel is only a short walk from Southern Cross Station, which makes arrival from the airport by SkyBus particularly convenient. It is also within the Melbourne CBD and Free Tram Zone, with shops, supermarkets, restaurants and many central attractions easily accessible. I was attending a conference at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, and the hotel was conveniently located for travelling to and from the venue. The staff were friendly and helpful, and our room was comfortable enough for a six-night stay. Considering the central Melbourne location, the hotel also offered good value for money. The hotel is clearly showing its age. Some furnishings, corridors, lifts and common areas look dated and would benefit from refurbishment. Maintenance could also be improved in several areas. The soundproofing is not particularly good, so noise from neighbouring rooms and doors in the corridor can sometimes be heard. Overall, the hotel is practical and well located rather than modern or luxurious. With some renovation and better maintenance, the overall experience could be considerably improved.

I come here almost every week for two days of work where I need to be in the CBD. I choose YEHS because it's a great location, close to my work, close to places to eat. It meets my needs well. The facilities are good and I've never had an issue with anything really. I'm not really fussed by minor things that bother other people. They're refreshing the rooms. I stayed in one that was refreshed throughout which is great but it was missing a desk which I need to use my laptop but it's no biggy and I just do it on the bed.

Good size rooms, comfy beds, desk, quiet, easy checkin and out, friendly staff. Sometimes the neighbors from the next building can be noisy but it doesn't go on forever. They're harmless and never bother any body.
