Cleanliness and accessibility to train stations and grocers The bed was too big for the room and space was a little cramped.

The location was the attraction - very central. The room although small was pleasant. So if you’re looking for a cosy bed to rest your head and nothing else, this will do. Unfortunately we didn’t realise that it was shared toilet & bathroom in corridor. Often both were engaged which was a huge problem when trying to leave in the morning prior to checkout time. The doors to the room automatically lock at checkout. Sadly if you are caught out this is quite uncomfortable & inconvenient. Staff will simply say they are bound by procedure.

Great place to stay close to all

Location a big factor. Family run business. Bit disappointed my hotel bond isn't returned to us as stated by staff stated 3 days. 4 working days now still no refund . Coffee machine not working. No milk just Coffee percolated and tea . Fridge frozen every thing turned down huge puddle of water. A little outdated needs fixing up. Hard when family trying to save money and not updating.

Clean, good sized room with great facilities including coffee plunger and pod machine. Loved having a bath. Convenient location next to Southern Cross Station and tram options. Friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic value for price. Nothing really - the location is a bit further away from the river but loads of transport options nearby to get around Central Melbourne including free trams so not a problem for me.

There was free laundry, meaning you did not have to pay when using the washer and dryer. The first day I was there, I left a "Do not disturb" sign on the door but I saw two towels on my bed when I returned. I asked the manager and he said my bed was lacking a second mattress protector. And he started yelling at me for no reason. The older gentleman started yelling too. I went to the police to report and was told because I did not sign a lease, as you would with a landlord, they were allowed to enter my room. The second day when I left I put a small piece of paper in between my door and it was on the floor when I returned. The third day, someone entered my room and threw an emptied plastic bag away from my fridge. I kept the bag there to store more snack later that day. There was no telephone in my room and the manager said a phone had to be "installed." I opted not to have it installed. I was charged more than 2% for using my credit card to pay for the hotel. When mentioning this to the manager and bringing it up with my credit card company, the surcharge was removed. I only meant for the overcharged portion to be removed, but somehow the whole surcharge was removed. When I first checked in, the lady at the front desk told me I had to pay $200 as a security deposit, but she forgot and only charged me $150. When I pointed out, she said it was her fault and did not do anything about it.

The bed was comfortable. A good selection of tea and coffee in the room - but no milk available. A random guest was kind and enabled me to contact my family via their phone as there was no support from staff and the internet did not work.

I liked how convenient it was to places around the city My son forgot the card to get back in and the staff didn't check with me or even their cameras as he was with me when checking in. He was locked out for 3 hours even though he gave them my name the last 4 digits of my credit card and what room we were staying in. Also it was a very small room

The worst place and people on earth. I wouldn’t come back here even if it was for free Everything, they caused me so much stress

Also positive is the location. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. During our 9-night stay, our room was not cleaned even once, despite requesting housekeeping. We were even asked to take our own rubbish to a bin on the street, which is completely unacceptable for a hotel. At checkout, there was a $16 discrepancy on our invoice. Although we had already paid almost the entire amount, the staff were impatient, made us wait outside while they sorted it out, and ultimately insisted we pay the extra $16 without providing a satisfactory explanation. The way this was handled was unprofessional and disrespectful. The breakfast was also very poor. Items such as juice and milk were not replenished for several days, so we often had to skip breakfast altogether. The only positive aspect was the location. Apart from that, the service, housekeeping, breakfast, and overall professionalism of the staff were well below expectations. I would not recommend staying here.
