Very dirty rooms and bathrooms

Very good value for money and right next to the tram route into the city. The heater that was provided proved to be very handy to keep me comfortable. It took me a little while to get hold of someone who could let me into the property with the code.

Location When we arrived, we entered the living room – a bunch of mismatched couches thrown together, with a pile of dust in the corner that hadn’t been swept. The bathrooms sometimes had no toilet paper, and only one had a sanitary bin. There was never any soap at the sink. The room was fine but looked awful. The window didn’t close properly, so there was a slight draft at night, making a little tapping sound with the wind. The noise was way too much to get a good rest. The bed and pillow were super comfy. On the last night, just before going to sleep, a mouse appeared. I jumped in shock, and another one ran out from under the bed. The worst part? There was a sign at reception saying mice were common. I wouldn’t go back.

Good location. The couple that helped check us in were very nice, they made sure we got an internal room that didn’t have a lot of road noise. Kinda cute quirky vibes of the old mansion. Mice in our room. They came through the build in closet and ate through all our food (there was a sign by check in about rodents which we didn’t see when we came in but that still doesn’t mean you’re absolved from the mice in the hotel!!). They pooped all over our backpacks and ate through closed bags of rice/pasta/etc. We complained and they changed rooms for us (it was our last night at 10pm so nowhere else to go) but they moved us to the other side of the building (near the front) - rooms in the back corner though I wouldn’t recommend becuase they’re close to the shed space where we believe the mice came in from. Kitchen: no dish soap to wash dishes, hand towels, utensils. No pilot light or lighter our last morning so we weren’t even able to turn on the stove, literally had to go across the street to buy food. Bathroom that was closest to our room didn’t have any soap. We eventually walked around and found soap dispenser in the other washroom. Also no toilet paper in the women’s bathroom for a period of time. Oh and they had tv’s in the room but we literally couldn’t even turn them on…

Intersting

Good location, reasonable price, comfortable bed, well equipped bathroom There was no coffee or sugar supplied, the microwave didn't work, waiting forty five minutes for check-in, the plates were greasy and the cups cracked
-
Room is well organized Lack of air conditioning
-
Hotel does not supply breakfast , I buy breakfast by myself.. Staff was friendly and helpful.
-
nothing lack of room facilities e.g. Tea, Coffee, Milk etc. Television

I loved the location,, close to everything like shops bars medical facilities, and transportation. The staff upon check in answered all my questions and made me feel welcome and secure. The building itself is a piece of Melbourne history, charming and beautiful. Checking out was the only part I didn't like,. Even though I only spent one night I felt at home and wished to stay longer. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in beautiful Prahran.

Excellent location Excellent stsffs Could be cleaner

Price is fair for one night Dirty, really dirty, crazy people in the hallways. Inside our room there was a cabinet and inside a lot of dirty clothes and strange things. It’s creepy
-
Doesnt have own toilet and the bed keeps on moving . Sheets were dirty but the room is okay. Good for value as it is only cheap
-
my room was facing the main road, it was a little noisy at night but it was bearable.

Beautiful heritage building...in the process of being renovated...a massive job but already well along...Jeff the host is gold! He will go out of his way for you and cares about you and your stay beyond just the money...I asked for a heater and he gave me a complimentary room upgrade! Very happy with a bigger room with a Tv...heater and a small fridge...Other guests were a lovely friendly mix of locals...families of Alfred Hospital patients and overseas travellers...Location near CBD...St Kilda...Prahan and Fawkner Park is a delight...24 hour servo with late night Hungry Jacks across the road...Trams and buses right outside...Very comfy but firm mattresses...Plenty of crockery in the kitchen...found a coffee cup no problem and op shop just up the road... Not much...building is a bit drafty but heaters are provided...some maintenance quirks...you might have to go to one of several upstairs bathrooms for a piping hot shower...tv's in many rooms but some may be missing their remote or an antenna connection...Downstairs kitchen usable but would be better with more cooking equipment and cutlery...an espresso machine would be a welcome bonus...but there is a kettle and the servo sells coffee 24/7...
