Near the markets and tram stops with easy access to the city, which was nice It's a Hostel, you know what to expect. But having the reception in a pub, probably needs a rethink for guests under 18!

One of female shower rooms key was broken. Actually, it's not serious problem for me because there are enough shower rooms. But if it is fixed, we would feel better.

    Shithole Bad hostel

  • Engine customer Nov 2024

It wasn't too clean. There was a lot of dust, and the kitchen wasn't clean. There was very little space everywhere, and it was very loudly (noise from the bar).

Good location. You can reach some touristic attractions walking. Near the river front. As you read in several reviews, kitchen is, indeed, extremely small. It fits one person. Well, you can still get around. Common areas in general are tight, small spaces. The bedrooms are spacious though. Still recommend it.

I love that the property is located near to almost every place you want to visit in Melbourne. The space is small.

location and cosiness. it was fine.

Location close to trams and markets. Situated on outskirts of cbd. Cheap price. Good value for money. Security. Has basic required amenities ie. Toilets, showers, kitchen, laundry etc.

Bed was made prior to my arrival which meant more time for me to chill and relax (thanks Yee). Staff are always ready to help with anything though. Location is great - just outside route 57 or 58 tram stops so can get to and from most places pretty quickly. A minute walk from queen vic markets as well which is handy. Showers a bit small but it does the trick. My go to when staying in Melbourne.

The staff was amazingly helpfull. The location is very good (near to victoria market) and close to the tram, which is very nice. The room was clean and it had a closet in it. WIFI was working well, no complaints. Even though it is a hostel, I booked a seperate (private) room. It was not clear for me that each room did not have an own bathroom / toilet. It was all shared, did not like (expect) that. In the other hostels I came and booked a private room, these private rooms had their own. The sound from outside is quite hard, they provide earplugs, but that's not enough...single windows.

    Super comfy bed. Great location!

Convenient location, clean space, had everything you could ask of a hostel. Had a cute nook with o sit in overlooking the street which was nice. Lights were energy efficient in bathroom and other areas which was nice. It felt safe. Being across from the market was great!

it’s a great location just across the street from the Queen Victoria Market as well as being right on the free tram lines. the couple running it are helpful and friendly. it’s old (historic building), small, tight spaces, and could use updating. I had a private room, which was fine, but several of the private rooms open right onto the only common area which was quite compact and could be noisy as I could hear all the conversations through the door. The bathrooms, kitchen, showers are all quite compact as well.

noisy music, small kitchen and laundry

  • Engine customer Jan 2023

The location right across the Queen Victoria Markets and the super friendly staff are the big plus of this hostel! There was a mix-up with my booking and I couldn’t get the room I had actually booked arriving on NYE, the staff did their best though to make up for it though.

Staffs are nice, location is just near Queen Victoria Market. Special price of drinking for the staying customer.

The hostel is clean you don't have common spaces, the owner is annoying and invasive calling you all time for check out, kitchen, etc. it doesn't have enough toilets and showers are tiny.
