Hotel Tannerhof is in a great location in Merano - outside of the City center, but still walkable to attractions and restaurants, with a beautiful view of the mountains. The staff is really exceptionally kind at this family-run hotel. Delicious breakfast, great pool, and an overall excellent value for the money. The beds were a bit firm.

Our host was super friendly - could not have done more to make us feel welcome. He even called us after we had left to ask for our address so he could post a t shirt we had left behind. The kids (and we) loved the pool. Really a wonderful hotel, with a lot of character & charm. Nothing to complain about! If we were being hyper-critical we might have wished for some fresh (as well as preserved) fruit for breakfast - but overall the breakfasts were great. And as the summers are getting hotter it might be worth considering getting some fans for the rooms.
