It is in a great location, close enough to the cathedral and the Messina Central train station. It is kept very clean and breakfasts was wonderful. The entrance hallway is dark at night.

the bed was really nice! the design of the room too! the hot croissant at the morning was good to ! the gothic shape ceiling of the room was romantic. Common kitchen/breakfast area had good supply of snacks, jelly, butter, crackers, yoghurt, milk, juices etc small things. While in shower in bathroom, one wood panel of door’s corner dropped down and one screw dropped from shower glass wall. Twin shower was not really workin for two because then the water pressure was not enough for both.

Very clean and central.

Lovely staff, good location for both the port and the town centre. Clean room. Easy to get in and out with pin codes and very quiet at night time (rear of the building). Slept well. Would go back. No view to speak of really, especially at the rear of the building. The breakfast setup is odd, in number 85 - a separate building to the actual Opera Realis. The self service breakfast room is outside of the doors 101 and 102, so if you are staying in those rooms you will be woken up by whoever gets up for breakfast first. Not an issue for early risers. You have the choice of having breakfast down the street at Opera Realis also, which I did, but I couldn't tell the difference. Not much a breakfast choice to be honest.

The room was quiet, super size, very comfortable bed and high quality linen. The bathroom was excellent. 10 out of 10. Everything felt almost brand new. It could be improved by a shelf somewhere in the bathroom to store make up etc. An additional chair in the bedroom would also improve the comfort level and there is more than ample space to place one. Despite having told the staff at check in that my wife and I are both senza glutine there was only one packet of bread on the first day. 2nd day he could not find any more bread. I asked if he could make sure there was some for next day. Next day he said it did not arrive. This needs to be improved. Also there were all sorts of flavoured yogurt in the fridge but not a single pot of Natural yogurt. For guests with a gluten intolerance Natural yogurt is an essential.

Absolutely beautiful room with the most comfortable bed and spacious bathroom with walk in shower. Small fridge was a bonus. Character building renovated to perfection, generous ‘help yourself’ breakfast with great coffee. Highly recommend! Check in was a bit challenging as the address provided was different to the check in location. A quick phone call to the property and all was sorted.

Room was really clean and modern, and even smelled fresh. Amazing lights in the room. Location perfect: only few minute walk both from the train station and from the main shopping street.

High quality furnishings, luxurious sheets & bath sheet towels, very nice breakfast selection with very fresh coretti, fresh fruit, variety of juices, several kinds of coffee. It was within walking distance of major sights. Messina surprised us with the cleanliness of the city. nothing

It exceeded my expectations, great value for money. I was arriving later than the check-in time and they allowed me do do self check in by sending instructions. Beautiful old building right in the centre of the city (close to the main station, to the main attractions, to the port). Breakfast was very Italian and very nice with plenty of options.

The location was fantastic perfect for me near train station and also the Cathedral etc. My room was lovely. I liked I could make a cup of tea any time in the little kitchen. There was an air con unit. Great shower with a big cubicle. All very clean. The building felt quite secure. I had a problem checking in I didn't get info that the hotel has two locations with check in at the other several buildings away we think this was possibly a mistake on part of booking.com who definitely had my details from other bookings for this holiday but gave the wrong info to the hotel so I got no message from them prior to arrival. The issue was sorted quite quickly but as I was travelling alone and was anxious it was horrible to arrive and think that there was no one there to receive me. There was no safe in the room which I would have liked. I felt quite isolated seeing pretty much no one....I could contact someone if I had a problem but the breakfast was laid out early and was self service and I rarely even caught a glimpse of other guests as there were only 3 or 4 rooms in the part of the hotel in which I stayed. I had thought because there was 24 staff I might see people which would have been nicer for me as a solo guest who was also hoping for opportunities to speak Italian! It was one of the reasons I chose the hotel. Most of my negatives are just miscommunication or misunderstanding possibly not much can be done.
