Quality Inn Mishawaka - South Bend

The hotel was clean but just older and needs some TLC. Putting a coat of paint over old does not make it look better.

Clean room, fresh remodel. Quite stay.

The room was clean and staff was very friendly. They are going through a bit of construction/update but still manageable. Only thing it does not have an elevator. The hotel is two floors and you would need to carry your items up the stairs. We had a quick weekend trip so it was not a problem for us

This place is gross.

We are well traveled so we have seen a lot of hotels. This one was not updated. Rusting metal everywhere , falling apart, the door and window didn’t completely block out light. Very rude staff at check in. Had to stay here 4 days for a basketball tournament as we were booked as a “stay to play” with a travel agency. From the beginning, we had an awful time checking in as the staff did not have our room available and refused for over an hour to give us our room without a “confirmation number”. We had to call the travel agency, the director of our AAU program all giving us the same number that she said was not the right number. We had emails confirming the 3 booked rooms and still refusal, a manager finally came and we showed him the email that we had two days prior confirming our CC number . He told her to give us a room and she still tried to argue with him that we didn’t have a confirmation number!!! We have 3 children and were at the check-in desk for over an hour trying to get our room. When we got in there it was just in poor condition, we were 20 minutes from the facility and in not a great part of town we learned very quickly. Just cheap shortcuts everywhere, pancake machine not working, breakfast service closed down earlier than stated times. Would not recommend or every stay again, will honestly never stay at Hilton express just to be safe that we don’t experience this again.

Nice hotel

Worn and torn floor carpets and ceilings. Need to clean the floors more frequently. Laundry room looks like a mess.

Breakfast Un-appealing visual approach at arrival. Property is for sale. If it’s going to stay a hotel, it needs to be refreshed!

no one at the front desk. waited 15 min. rang the bell and called hotel number. no one answered. Terrible experience. Left without staying

No elevator. Which is normally not an issue, but with my bum knee and my husband's bum hand, it made it difficult carrying stuff upstairs. The clerk offered to help, but we declined.

Too many lineman were just outside my room in the garden area socializing and drinking. Not extremely loud, but just too close to my room.

Caveat to this review, this place has newish owners who are currently working on updating the hotel. The hallway rugs were threadbare. The fan in the bathroom did nothing to decrease steam build up while showering. Odd thing to note but very little water in the toilet bowl resulting in the bowl not cleaning itself when flushed. The floor in the room felt uneven and kind of wavey when you walked across it. It also looked like someone swapped the desk and the fridge/microwave console because there was a picture hidden behind the tv that was on top of the console.

It was ok Customer service

Room was clean and queen beds were nice. Bathroom sink frequently backed up and two of the lights were burned out. Hallway carpets were threadbare and upturned ends were peeling away from the walls, giving the entire hotel a much more disheveled look than it probably deserved. Breakfast was very good for the money (free). Air confining in room worked well but traveling partner said it frequently felt excessively humid to him. (It did rain on and off during our stay.)

Bed were so comfortable. I slept like a baby.

Location No elevators for second floor guests!

the location the room itself definitely needed attention. You could literally see outside through the doorframe because of the gaps, the shower was dirty and still had a used bar of soap left in it, and the toilet paper holder was falling off the wall. Overall, the room could have been much cleaner and better maintained.

Great location for Notre Dame and other activities in the area. Right near the University Park Mall and shopping. The breakfast was simple but good. In all honesty they were fixing things up, painting and carpet work, installing new room air conditioners, so it was a bit cluttered. That said I will give them a good pass as fixing up and making improvements is always a good thing.
