Hotel de M

The people are really nice. The location is very good. The room is clean and everything works. They give a discount for breakfast in the cafe. Bed is comfortable. Needs improvement in the lighting. Overhead lights are very strong. Should put in night table lamp. Much nicer. Room is functional but can be more relaxing with better design. Also breakfast can be better. Spam is not for everyone. Maybe include simple Japanese breakfast option. Also two glasses in room would be nice.

The staff is phenomenal! Very courteous and professional. The room was clean and appeared to have been recently renovated. The bed was exceptionally comfortable; the refrigerator was decent size (and cold); the air conditioner was clean and kept the room very comfortable; and the bathroom was spotless with a large tub, big shower head, and plenty of hot water. The cafe was clean and cozy, and the included breakfast was delicious!

The room is very clean, the staff at the restaurant de M is very helpful, there's a bicycle rental right on the side, family mart all around, exquisite fish restaurants walking distance. I really loved the stay! Thank you!

Room was a bit small even for Japan (the single room is just a bed, desk, tiny hallway and bathroom). Other reviewers noted that there were some sounds outside, and there was indeed some beeping noise, no idea what but it was not a big deal. The automatic check-in requires you to say your name in front of a camera, which can be heard from the neighboring room (not great for privacy).

Bed and pillow were very comfortable, better than my other hotels. Shower good. Staff were so helpful during my visit, (although questions asked before arrival were not answered). Only Japanese spoken, which is fine - used google translate! The staff helped by taking my luggage to my room, which I really appreciated. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment. The owner helped me hire a car - essential to see the island and surrounding islands. Make sure you have an International Driving Permit for Japan! I recommend MRC car rental. One tiny thing could improve - a bedside lamp, so you don't have to get out of bed to turn the light off. Personally not a fan of self check -in, but did work without issues

That there was nobody at the reception desk (all digital), and I had some trouble when checking out. Plus it was the downstairs Cafe closed day.

The hotel is located in a fairly quiet but accessible area, and is instantly recognizable by how it is painted. Rooms are on the upper floor, the lower floor serves as a café/restaurant. A good sized breakfast is served to travelers staying here at a discount. Bed was comfortable.
