Grand Hotel Plaza e Locanda Maggiore

When I arrived at the property they told me there was a problem and my room was not available. ? They accomodate me in another hotel nearby. They could have let me know about this problem in advance. I did not like that at all. Anyways, they offered ne a dinner in their restaurant but I did not go.

Desk staff was not consistently helpful.

It was a historic building so had a lot of high ceilings and charm. It was out of heavy tourist traffic but we could easily walk to the train station. We went to Lucca one day and Florence another day. We also went on the historic funicular nearby by .

The room was a bit outdated. The mattress was a little too firm and the pillows not thick enough. The breakfast was subpar with lower quality foods

The property is ideally placed for easy access to the main square, funicular, and the Centro train station. It is beautiful and well maintained. The staff were very kind and helpful.

It’s a beautiful old well-maintained property right in the heart of Montecatini. No negatives to report. Even the breakfast was delicious.

Centrally located. Friendly courteous staffs at reception front desk. Excellent hard working breakfast room staffs. We are very pleased with the room, a comfortable bed, 2 extra pillows, a little pot to heat up water for tea. Breakfast food was very good, complete balanced breakfast with eggs, cold cuts meat and cheese. Fresh fruits, homemade bread and pastries of so many kinds to choose from. 2 coffee machines were both working fine. . None

This is a lovely hotel in a very central area of the town. It has an element of faded grandeur about it but the staff were delightful, the room was absolutely fine and even had a lovely little outdoor terrace, and the hotel has all the facilities you need. Breakfast was plentiful and very good. Parking is slightly difficult so make sure you get clear details from the hotel.

The breakfasts were really good and so convenient. The price of the dinner was a great bargain by the amount of the food you received. The rooms were comfortable and large. I loved the size of the bathroom. Due to the time of year I was there the pool wasn't open. It would have been nice to just sit out there even though you couldn't swim.

It was in the Centre of Montecatini.

It partially felt like going back in time to "grand hotels" I only saw in movies. Rooms are grand with traditional rotary telephone, staircase is grand with all the marbles and sculptures, lobby is grand with a pianist in the evenings and with wooden key rack behind receptionist... An experience on its own. Special shout-out to a lovely lady managing the pool - very attentive and helpful. Thank you for making our days special.

Staff in the hotel are great. Really friendly and helpful. The aircon did not work correctly and the hotel of in need of update.
