Outstanding location and service. The hotel team contacted us from the minute we made the reservation until we were checked in. Access to the hotel was restricted by a market on arrival. A hotel team member met us outside the old town gate and guided us directly to the hotel, assisted with our checkin and guided us to exclusive hotel parking. Our room was very spacious, well appointed, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Large recently updated bathroom. Despite being in the centre of the town, it was wonderfully quiet. We were there in October and were able to leave the doors to patio and windows open at night. No bugs! just beautiful Tuscan cool fresh air. There is A/C for hotter days. Full breakfast is excellent, lots of choice, food is fresh and delicious. The hotel team is like a family. They all work in different areas and they all remembered us. They were all super helpful helping us find restaurants, activities and best places to visit. Bring good walking shoes. Montepulciano is on a hill. The hotel is at the lower end. We loved everything. It is a historic building that shows it's graceful age in places. The overall service more than makes up for any age issues. We had an issue with our shower drain and left a note. We were contacted by WhatsApp messages and calls to make sure they had all the info. When we returned, not only was the issue corrected, every team member we met asked if everything was ok. That continued into the following morning at breakfast! Our expectations were blown away.

Extremely charming historic hotel in center of old town Montepulciano. The hotel is beautiful with a delightful, historic atmosphere, every modern convenience and the most gracious, hospitable hosts you could wish for. Can’t wait to return and stay much longer next time!!!! Absolutely nothing. I just wish we’d stayed longer!!

This hotel had so much character and the location was perfect. Our room had a huge terrace overlooking the Tuscan hills perfect for morning coffee and an evening cocktail. The hotel had so much of its history preserved in all the common rooms which made it very eclectic too and our host welcomed us with open arms and provided lots of tips for the town and area. The breakfast was substantial and delicious. The hotel is located steps from the gates of Montepulciano surrounded by restaurants and even a winery.

The hotel preserves so well the feel of the families since it became a hotel. It is truly a slice of history. I had a room with a huge bathtub, which felt great after a long day of walking. The shower was good, too. The staff was friendly and helpful. They contacted a taxi to take me to my train -- a company they knew well. That was reassuring. As the hotel warns, there are substantial steps to all the rooms -- 2 flights for each floor. That was the only inconvenience.

Staff, communications, nice place Signage finding hotel could be better. Not sure city allows but a sign sticking out would help.

I hesitate to complain because it seems all beds in Italian hotels are hard. This bed was on the hardest scale at 7. From 0 that is soft to 10 that is sleeping on the floor.

The staff was very helpful, the day we were leaving there was a train strike and they helped us find other traveling options. They spent a lkng time in the internet, trying ti help us Nothing
