Grand Hôtel du Midi Montpellier - Opéra Comédie

Good central location, near the train station. Helpful front desk staff. Nearly zero WiFi in the hotel room, sometimes it didn't work in the public spaces either. The non-smoking room smelled like cigarette smoke (it was carpeted, so maybe it was a smoking room in the past)? The room was rather dark. There was a wardrobe w/mirror near the entry, but when the door was open, it was nearly impossible to see anything because the door of the wardrobe covered the light from the bulb.

The location is fine Property have no air condition , their second level was all out , our room Had no ac at all they had to Put couple of fans and at this time of year the heat was crucial . Very uncomfortable . We asked about maintenance and they said they have no maintenance.

Really nothing.

Breakfast was not good at all.

The location was exceptional It was not the first time for me in the hotel there was a huge difference between the early stays and the last one. The services was way bad probably the hotel is trying to save some money according the service

Location is amazing, just. A few steps away from the Place de la Comedie and many other landmarks and relevant places. The staff could’ve been a bit nicer and more attentive.

The location is great, the staff was friendly and the room was well appointed. But outstanding issues were never addressed. The hotel advertised A/C. The A/C was not working. We spent 6 nights and during our entire stay, no A/C. It was 35c in our room and the convenience was a fan to move hot air. I have stayed at this property before and did not expect this. What was very upsetting on top of this, the manager attempted to enter our room to show prospective guests for some event the room. Since we were in our room, they proceeded to show someone else’s. Now I do not know what the laws are in France, but in North America (Canada) this is absolutely illegal.

This hotel was in a perfect location for our one night in Montpelier - right in the center of things so we didn't have to travel far to see what we wanted to see. The hotel staff was very welcoming and accommodating and gave us a fantastic restaurant recommendation for lunch when we arrived. The room furnishings might have seemed a little worn, but nothing that I was really bothered by. The room was large, as was the bathroom.
