Mostar Downtown Hostel

While I was sleeping her mother came in the room at about 8 in the morning, turned on the light to look for the remote for the AC. Then she turned off the AC. It's was hot!!

This place exceeded all my expectations! As a first-time solo traveler, I couldn’t have picked a better spot. The atmosphere is incredible, and I met some truly wonderful people. The staff goes above and beyond—they are incredibly attentive to every single detail, from arranging rentals to giving the best insider tips. Their guided tours are fantastic, and the nature around Mostar is absolutely breathtaking. I didn't want to leave! Nothing at all—everything was spot on.

This is such an amazing hostel, 10/10 recommend! The hosts are seriously the best! Sonja and her family and incredibly kind and welcoming, she gave lots of great recommendations and I truly felt like I was welcomed into their home. The beds are really comfy and good AC in the rooms. There’s a nice backyard to hangout in. The location is great, close to old town but without the noise and chaos of being in old town. I can't say enough good things about Hostel Downtown Mostar. From the moment I walked in, I felt completely at home. The staff are some of the nicest people I’ve met while traveling — super helpful, full of local knowledge, and always ready to share a laugh or a story. The hostel has a relaxed, social atmosphere without being loud or overwhelming. It’s a great place to meet other travelers or just unwind after a day of exploring. Everything was clean and well-maintained — the rooms, bathrooms, and common areas were spotless. The location is amazing — just a few minutes from the Old Bridge and everything else you’d want to see in Mostar. I also joined one of the day tours they offer, and it was a real highlight. We visited some stunning spots around Herzegovina that I never would have found on my own. Whether you're backpacking through the Balkans or just stopping by for a night, this place is a perfect choice. I genuinely didn’t want to leave!

Location is great and hosts are nice! Bathroom and toilet are downstairs, it’s very inconvenient to use toilet at night. Bathroom was freezing, the temperature was even colder than outside. Also I didn’t remember when I booked, the method of payment is cash only was mentioned. Compared to Mostar Hotel a three star hotel, this hostel if it is a real hostel is a little expensive.

Very cozy hostel, close to the main touristic spots in the city. It's ran by a family and they're all great! I'd definitely recommend everyone to stay here!

Actually I didn't stayed at this property because they didn't closed the rooms on bookinh.com and they were full booked. I phoned property and lady eas very polite and helpfull, full of understanding, but 7nfortunatelly without any option for overnight. Low grade is just because they didn't closed the rooms on booking.com since they were fully booked, but otherwise communication was pleasent and helpful so in general I reccomend that facility if they have available rooms.

Listing started a washing machine was available, but the charge was Euro10 per load.

I needed accommodation very late at night due to a missed bus. The owners responded quickly and picked me up from the bus station. I am very grateful for their service and would recommend this place to anyone visiting Mostar. :)

Great stay in nice hostel in the heart of Mostar. Owners are extremely kind and helpful. Beds were comfortable and hostel was mostly clean during our stay. It does feel like a home, which was nice during our travels. We experienced the bathrooms being full several times we needed to go – only two toilets for dorm rooms as one is locked for the private room only. Outside area doesn’t look exactly like the photos and was not as ‘happening’ during our stay. There wasn't a kettle which would have been nice. On two instances staff came in past 11:30pm and turned on the main bedroom light and spoke loudly (likely checking people in but they were not trying to be quiet whatsoever).
