Great location and very clean! Nothing fancy but price reflected that. Perfect choice if you’re looking for an affordable option with basic amenities.

The room smelled and I couldn’t get rid of it with a room spray. It made everything I owned smell too. The tv didn’t work. You had to ask the office for permission to get to the ice machine. The whole place was dated and I felt dirty being there. It was also loud and you could hear everything from outside.

Great spot for super cheap! It's an old motel, but very well maintained and clean facilities. Staff was polite, friendly, and helpful. Included parking is a definite plus!

Decent motel. Parking was free, can't really get that in many places in Chicago. It's a motel, so understand that many people use it to do their deed, be aware of that. But never felt like a dangerous stay. Again, don't complain about it, it's a cheap motel in Chicago. Great for P&D sessions.

Location is perfect! You're within a 0.3 mile walk to the green line, 0.8 mile walk to the red line, Whole Foods, and great restaurants! Love the included parking and wifi, a huge value. We were warmly greeted during check-in and the staff was very kind. The place is very clean, everywhere! As many have said the motel is dated, but you really can't beat the value - good temperature control, hot water, clean linens, and great TV selection. My only complaint is the beds - they are horrible! A step above a cot on some old springs... an air mattress probably would've been better.

Wonderful staff! Free parking is definitely a plus. This is obviously a 50s/60s type roadside motel, and we loved that! It's very basic, with no microwave or fridge. That was no problem for us this stay. The beds were super comfortable. The room was very clean. The train is within walking distance, which is also a plus. This was our first stay, but it definitely won't be our last!

However, my experience with the staff was so unbelievably poor and insulting that I cannot recommend this location whatsoever. I booked a double room to stay with a friend, and the reservation was under my name. Due to travel delays, I was not able to be there the first night, so I called the Heart O'Chicago to add my friend's name to the booking. I was informed that because I had booked through Expedia, they could not make any changes. So, I utilized the Expedia app to update the name on my booking to my friend's name, assuming this would solve the problem. It did not! They would not permit my friend to check in, and forced them to pay for the night separately, even after I phoned to re-explain the entire situation. Worse, somehow in the process, the Heart O'Chicago managed to fully lose my entire booking, so my friend had to pay for an additional two nights separately. Fortunately Expedia was able to get me a refund, but this was a stressful situation that the Heart O'Chicago seemed to have no interest in improving. They treated my friend antagonistically. Too bad that ownership is so disorganized and unkind, because otherwise this could be a real gem for travelers on a budget.

Great location. Great for the price since parking was included.

And it's in a great location. Green line stop right down the street, and thorndale Red line stop is not a far walk. I would absolutely stay here again

Friends were visiting so I booked 2 rooms through Expedia. I use Expedia all the time and never had an issue. Expedia charged out the reservation. The owner refused to honor the Expedia reservation and charged me full price and completely disregarded the payment. I had no choice but to pay as every other hotel was sold out in the area. I also watched him walk the property and treat hotel employees badly. Expedia should drop this hotel as well as AAA. DONT STAY HERE!! You should stay elsewhere, even if it costs more.

The area looked nice and safe, the room was spacious and clean, the breakfast (cereals, oatmeal, milk, coffee, and orange juice) was suitable for us and pretty good for the price. We did not need air conditioning, so we did not even try to turn it on, but we opened the window to let fresh air in; we both really liked it. One of the best things is that check in starts at 10:00 am; it was just great! The parking is large; if you need public transportation, there are at least two bus stops just next to the hotel. I wish there was a coffee or tea pot in the room and a hair dryer in the bathroom, but I understand it might be too much for the price we paid. However, a couple of hooks for clothes or towels in the bathroom could be affordable for the business and helpful for the customers. There is no elevator, which may not even be necessary for the two story building, especially if your luggage is not heavy. The front desk receptionist (or manager) kindly offered to help us with the luggage. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in the Heart O’Chicago Motel, and if we take another trip to Chicago, we’ll most likely stay there again.

Great stay, only slight disappointment was the continental breakfast offering. Only serial and oatmeal.

This is an EXCELLENT no frills affordable place to stay. Very well maintained and well run place. Just to set expectations, it is dated and off the beaten path, but I HIGHLY recommend this hotel.
-
Room was clean and staff was helpful, but room was extremely smelly of stale cigarettes and body odor. Good hot water. Not too noisy.
-
The property is definitely aging. The rooms could use a refresh and upgrade to the amenities. The hotel stated it had breakfast in the morning and all that was available was cereal and a pot of coffee.

Not much. The location was close to, you know, I got some water. You know, the appointment i had There were constant sirens going off. There were people standing in front of our door talking loudly 1112 o'clock at night. The ice machine was out. There was no breakfast as advertised. The bed didn't have a fitted sheet on it. In the pad, the pundit was dirty
